No more than your doing with it why not just get a decent crate motor and be done with it they make some good ones just swap over your stuff and go nobody would know the difference. If your intention is to race get used to the big bills ya gotta pay to play it’s not a cheap hobby

Yes reading about all y'alls service and stories is very cool (and same to all other geezers who served) and I never pass up the chance to listen, and let a vet go on and on about his time in uniform. I know it's becoming quite cliché (and maybe not so sincere) these days, but of course thanks for your service. I used to listen to my grandpa whenever he would be in the mood to talk about it (3 years in the south Pacific, halftrack driver and cook) and I wish he was here to tell more. I did manage to inherit all of his WWII photos though, so that's something. As for me, I regretfully admit that after 99ing the ASVAB and getting the fast track to OCS via my college work, Uncle Sam politely declined my services after digging up some supposedly expunged legal details about youthful, umm, indiscretions. Biggest regret of my life.

    TL;DR and me just rambling:

Just listening to a band the kids and I discovered a few years ago, singing a positive (and kick ass) song about a vet, without all the Springsteen/et al. negativity. It's a great tune dedicated to the men and women of the "greatest generation," especially the folks who followed the call of their country, did their duty, came home and just got back to work. Well worth a listen.

    https://youtu.be/8k5zO06PyVM

Both my kids and I really enjoy this band - Flatfoot 56 - so it was a special bonus to us when we got to meet the lead singer at a record promo event. I asked him specifically about this song and he said it was actually written about a real-life experience. When he was a kid living in South Chicago (my people!), there was a Polish WWII vet who would pay him to run errands for the disabled, old, and sick seniors in the neighborhood. So that was this kid's job - getting groceries etc. for the old folks in the 'hood, on this widower's dime. The experience stuck with the singer so much, he later was inspired to write about real life story which mirrors the one in the song. I really connected to the band after that; I still get a little misty at the end of the video, at the '"tip of the cap" part. I told the singer as much and it was cool how appreciative he was, although I can't say I didn't have a crick in my neck after... it ain't easy talking to a guy who is 6'10"!
