    Aloha,

Currently thinking of purchasing a used 2016 Trd 4x4 Toyota Tacoma double cab stock suspension, front strut and rear stocks and installing them on my wife’s 2005 Toyota Tacoma double cab.

I called into Napa and BI Toyota and both say they think it should fit but wasn’t a 100% certain. Anyone have experience or knowledge of this?

Also anyone know what this brown sleeve is on this coil? Never seen a coil with one of these before? Check pic

Yes. It will give your front end a 1" lift.

Yep. Did it to mine. The brown thing keeps the coils from rubbing together when it compresses. I got nearly 2 inches because mines a 4cyl.

Nice thanks guys. So at the moment there is an AAL on the rear and I just recently purchased a 3 inch leveling kit spacer for the front. Basically a 1.5 inch spacer for each side. Would this be an issu given that this new strut will boost the front an inch?

Yes it will be since that will give you 4 inches of lift. That will be too much angle for the CV joints on the front diff. 3” is pretty much the max before you should look into a drop bracket.

I've never used spacers so not much experience there but 1.5" spacer does equal to a 3" lift. With just the spacer alone, you will have alignment issues or driveability problems. In my experience, a total of 2.5" lift is the highest you can go on stock upper control arms and even at that, alignment was hard to get corrected.

Aww shucks... well I did order a rear differential drop as well. But seems like I’ll have to look for some stock struts without the added inch boost...
