Those are pretty fun once you defeat the stock boost controller. I love how they package the intercooler and everything in there

It's a tight package. Sucks to wrench on. It's very conservatively modified. Just enough to make it a little nutty to drive. The torque steer is crazy

I thought they did equal length shafts on those to try and combat that. Damn, I know all of my Maximas over the years have had insane torque steer, not a great feeling initially but once you come to predict it it's no biggie.

They look like your normal CV axles. When I had an aftermarket transmission mount it was better but it made the interior too loud for me. I can drive it fine.

@MadTaco461 I'm so excited to turbo the snot out of this 300zx. Looking like I might make it into a 330ZX if the engine teardown doesn't return favorable results. Got anline on an Xterra motor if I need it.

I'm probably the luckiest person alive. At the end of a geology degree, one of the things we do is an intensive 6 week long field course where We apply all sorts of mapping techniques, etc... It's pretty brutal, especially since we're housed in Bishop CA, in June/July. :bananadead:

Any hoo, one of the visiting teachers worked for USGS and was teaching the active tectonics section. I happened to sit next to him on the van ride to one of the field sites and we started talking. He was looking for a student to do some computer processing, and I was about to be out of a job (I worked at the campus bike shop and was graduating). So, he gave me his card and I applied right when I got back to town. I ended up competing with one of my classmates. I won. :D

So, how bout' dem... tectonic plates?

I'm going to be honest with you. The only knowledge I have of tectonic plates comes from the movie 2012.

OMG I Fing hate movies like that: The Core, 2012, Volcano, etc... The Matrix has more legitimate science than those goddamn movies

Think of the tectonic plates kinda like the scum floating on a pot of soup. They're just chunks that float on the surface and get moved around by the boiling soup (the Mantle and earth's core). It's just a bunch of rock that is made of minerals that are less dense than the mantle(for a variety of reasons) so they essentially "float". The plates move around at about the same rate your fingernails grow.
