That wall of handles is a thing of beauty. Wish we had some places near me with that kind of selection

Their "barn" is about an hour from me. I get down to them once in a while when I need a treat.

Nothing stand out, sadly. Had some good stuff though but nothing amazing. The Maine brew was probably the best they had. Hitting SF and Berkeley breweries today. Heading to Fieldwork now. Then Rare Barrel. Then Almanac

There was nothing that was really bad. It was all craft. But just nothing that stood out to me. I guess my girlfriend just over hyped it haha.
Rare Barrel and Almanac will be great though!

Maple Brown Ale from Lidl. Not sure who is brewing it for them (edit: figured out below). But it is the first maple that I can actually taste the maple. It's a difficult flavor to impart and do well. Great flava.

    1. Not bad. Initial sip was meh but after taste was great
    2. Very similar to the first. Both use white grapes. Good but not great.
    3. Most disappointing of the 6. Very meh. Have had much better bruts.
    4. Bit of a straw flavor. But good. Hint of some melons.
    5. Super dank. Quite good. Smell described as “wet” by the girlfriend. (Don’t ask, couldn’t tell you).
    6. Best of the 6. Perfect balance of everything.

I tried the Irish Red from Lidl awhile back and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I will keep my eye out for the Maple Brown next time I’m there.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised. Got it this week at the Indian Trail Lidl. Makes for great Florence drinking. Will have to try the Irish Red as well.
