Installing Halo Projectors

I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma and purchased the below lights. I am asking for tips the best way to install these. Thanks in advance! And yes, I know I should have bought play and plug! ;-)

The best way to install them is to leave them in the box and just get some new OEM housings.

But if you insist on using those anyway, I recommend you hook the halos (double set of wires) up to the parking light circuit, and the LED "strips" (single set of red/black wires) up to the DRL circuit. Neither use much power, so you're safe using a set of of weatherproof scotchloks.

 

Capt. Obvious why do you say new OEM housings? Dont like Halo style or is it something with the brand?

 

Interested in seeing before/after pictures and hearing how the install went. My OEM lenses are fogged over and discolored as well as cracked. I repaired them once using the Mother's Headlight Restoration Kit, but did not spray them with clear afterwards and that work is all for naught 1.5 years later...

 

Is this the below the headlight restorer that you used? I will post pics after I do it, trying to get through this "hurricane".

How do I hook the LED's to the DRL circuit?

 

He is saying leave them in the box because they’re a cheaper, lower quality housing and light. There are a couple threads on the same lights, and people have had varied experiences with them. But most seem to have an issue with condensation and fogging, as well as poor light output. Haven’t seen any true long term reviews on them, due to what seems to be they’re relatively new to market, and most people seems to go back to OEM or retrofit.

At least that’s what I’m guessing he meant...

 

I said that for two reasons: One reason is they are a cheap headlight with poor light output and the second reason is a matter or opinion, but those headlights look cheap and tacky and look like they came from the accessories isle at AutoZone.

 

Where is the DRL circuit if I want to plug in LED's from my halo lights?

 

Pretty similar if not the same. I am not so sure mine contained the sponge ball, but it did contain all of the progressive grit abrasive pads, etc. Use lots of water. I had one of my kids there with a spray bottle when I did mine.
