Dude tons of us have had this problem. Search around a bit. You need to get it fixed.

More commonly referred to as the rear diff. You will find plenty of info if you try that.

Compared to my first fix yours is very minimal. My 2nd fix was just a little more uniform. All the bolts were leaking about the same as what you have going on. Do t let them tell you there isn’t anything to fix. If they do, call corporate.

Low range off road has a stud replacement kit for 2nd Gens. As soon as their 3rd Gen is available I’m sure a member will try it out

    http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/trail-gear-toyota-differential-stud-eliminator-kit-140056-1-kit.html

    Details
“When you come home after a trail ride in your Toyota do you see oil leaking from the center of your axle housings? The stock axle housing studs may be pulling loose. No longer do you have to tap and drill the studs out and replace the studs. Our new diff stud eliminator kit replaced the studs with allen head bolts that won't pull through like the stock studs. Kit includes 10 high strength studs, nuts, washers and a tube of Ultra Gray Silicon gasket material.

Note: If your truck is equipped with an electric locking differential, the two long studs will have to be re-used. On some 2005+ Toyota Tacoma the factory studs are 10mm. This kit includes only 8mm bolts, so please check your thread diameter to make sure that it will work on your truck before ordering.“

I told you already in the first post what to do. If they tell you no, you need to call corporate and at least consult with them. Mine was fixed for the second time last week. Don’t let them screw you over.

If you don’t call corporate and complain, then don’t complain here if you don’t get it fixed. If you really want it fixed you have to keep on Toyota’s ass.

Worst thing that can happen is they tell you no. I am pretty sure that’s not gonna happen. Send them pics etc. if needed. Don’t let them say that leaking is okay. It’s a new truck man. Would they be okay if your oil pan or radiator was leaking. They need to stop pilfering vulnerable old ladies for all their money with needless work and actually help out manuafacturing issues and legit ownership complaints.

Mine has similar seeping. Dealer had to order new seals. Now waiting on new blower to get both done as same time. My dealer seems to be backlogged and it takes a long time to get parts.

Mine has the beginning signs of weeping, but I put on a diff skid, airbags and a AAL. If they have to pull the diff apart to replace the gasket, I’m looking at some hassles bringing it in with all that stuff on it, not due to warranty, just due to inconvenience of taking it off to open the diff!!

Perhaps I should try retorquing the bolts first myself... does anyone know the Ft/lbs for it?

I think that may help, but it’s the gasket that may be the culprit also.

I bet thats the first thing Toyota service does, but its a long shot. Its wierd that most leak from the top.

... great, I probably will have to put the OEM breather back on before Toyota sees it, too.
