Just moved to Colorado and wondering what are peoples experience with snow tires? What is the best snow tire you have found? I want a good snow tire but I also want that rugged mud terrain tire look.

Buy a set of Cooper ST Maxxes and have them studded.

I really like the nokian hakkapeliitta. Others will swear by Blizzaks. I've used both on different cars (mostly outbacks and now the nokians on the taco). Can't go wrong with either - assuming you don't want to deal with studs. I think there is a version of the nokians that can be studded as well but I have no interest in that.

Unless you actually live somewhere where there is snow on the ground a lot of the time, studs are not the way to go. Not sure where in CO the op lives, but along the front range and east studs are not the answer. I guess if it's more a question of looks but I value not having accidents over looks.

I drove a fair bit in the mountains last winter including snow covered passes and deeper snow off road and the nokians were excellent. Maybe not as cool looking, but drive amazingly well in all conditions.
