So ... another grille thread. I had some damage to my grill that is going to be paid without involving insurance. I was trying to find out the pricing of the factory replacements and compare that to an after market replacement. Would like to see if this is a good opportunity to replace the cheap plastic grill with a metal aftermarket option.

I might just run up to the dealer tomorrow and price it out ... I don't want to take a chance buying someones old one off ebay, etc. Since the damage was not my fault, I either want a brand new one just like the factory or I want to get something more stylish and maybe pay the difference if needed for the aftermarket option.

Any suggestions? I did find a website called Olathe Toyota but their prices seems high and were even higher than another dealer website I found in the local area.

    Thanks in advance.

All the online based websites show the actual MSRP versus what discount they provide. Your insurance company will pay the MSRP.

Is the other party paying? If so, get the MSRP from your dealer, then instead of ebay look on the marketplace here for 3rd gens. Probably some members who swapped to the PRO grille and have the stock one for sale for a really good deal. That way you know its coming from a TW member who cares about their truck as well as others so the part will be in good shape. Pocket the extra cash.

Edit: just a quick browse turned this one up. 50 bucks shipped.

Sorry, I got the impression that he wanted dealer replacement prices.

My dealer quoted $540 for a Pro grill. Insane.

Actual OEM pro grille is pricey. Knock offs are cheap. Dealer install adds markup.

I have a gently used off-road grille from my 2018 sitting in a shippin box, ready to go out to a new owner if interested. I put a pro grille on mine within the first 2k miles.

The $540 was just for the part - no install. Point being - online is likely going to be WAY cheaper as you can find an OEM one for $300-350

A little more info, the person paying (responsible for damage) is related. I don't want to "pocket" extra money or completely rip them off for that matter. If I buy used, I just want to make sure it is like new (the truck is only 1 year old for me ... although a 2016 model).

I just figured it may be an opportunity to upgrade the grill (maybe pay a little extra). I will need the whole assembly (insert, bezel and painted surround) I will post pics of the damage.

Thanks @daddy_o for the tip on the marketplace ... I am a new Tacoma owner so I haven't explored this site a whole lot.

I found the lower bumper trim panel for about $130. I can get the whole grill assembly for $400. Looking to see if there are any metal aftermarket options. So far I have only found metal inserts and they cost $300+ but I will need the whole assembly.

That is the exact website I found for the plastic replacements.

Take a look @ GrillCraft. The powder coating is awesome.

I just threw away that exact grill off my 16, I figured no one would want it. I would make a post in the for sale section on this forum. I bet someone would send you a lightly used one for cheap

@DaTacoSpin I've got a 2018 TRD OR grill I pulled off with less than 200 miles on the truck last month to replace with the trd pro grill. If interested let me know. Haven't bothered putting it up for sale yet
