So I just got mine, little late lol but it's an 07 tacoma sr5 access cab 4x4, 4.0 engine.... Question have any of you guys changed your fluids, I ask because other than the engine oil being ok as conventional 5 w 30 ... the transfer case and two differentials should they be synthetic or conventional as well? the manual doesn't say either way? I am going to do this myself.

If you change your fluid often or at-least inspect them at oil changes conventional would be fine, synthetic is better and generally lasts longer but is more expensive it really depends on your maintenance schedule. I personally run all synthetic fluid because I sometimes forget and the added protection is always a good backup.

If your willing to save a few bucks at fluid changes conventional would be just fine, Welcome to TW as well!

look at your oil and change accordingly whether you use conventional or synthetic. 4000miles you are likely throwing money away. You should be able to get double that under normal driving conditions. I understand people will argue this both ways so do whatever gives you piece of mind. Just my personal 2cents and has served me well

Tacomas do not need any special oil, only the early TRD sports/xrunners had lsd in the rear.

You can use regular 75w90 on the axles/tcase and standard 5w30 oil in the motor.

I'd never bother with synthetic unless you want to push intervals a bit. But regular oil changes go a long way.

I've yet to see a lubrication failure in the 4.0 except for those who don't do oil changes 50k at a time.

Up in Canada we only got LSD on sport models, good that you caught that.

Special fluid for sure in the rear axle. Some people use full synthetic LSD oil, some people use regular gear oil with LSD additive. Both work fine!

Welcome to TW! I prefer synthetic for the diffs and tcase since it's a much longer change interval.
