Even if you paint them later on, it is not the hardest thing to paint them while everything is together. Just have to mask the pads/rotors well.

They are already rusting from the dew this morning. I went out to check for ovenight leaks and found a pea sized drip on the plastic under the left front. I cleaned everything of moisture and then tied strips of paper towel around the bleeder and brake line. I'm hoping there's no leak.

Hopefully the drip is just water. But if you go to bleed them today, you will find out if there is a leak at the lines/bleeders pretty quickly (from the build up of pressure).

My advance auto calipers were junk. I bought them because my OEM ones had broken seals and I didn't want to rebuild them. Within a week, they started to rust while my OEM ones still looked new at 90k. About two years in, some of the pistons were sticking. Replaced both under warranty not long before I traded the truck in.

Got my little shop heater in. It's a 6000w unit, only cost me about $90 shipped. I ran it off a 40 amp breaker and 8 gauge wire, which would be enough to swap it with a 7500w unit without changing anything if I wanted to. Judging by the heat it puts out, I think it'll be enough so I won't have to. I'll know for sure this winter. I could also insulate the ceiling without too much trouble, though last winter I don't think I ever saw it drop below 30 degrees.

Pain in the ass too cause they were taken apart - painted with dry film lubricant and then prothane supergreased and then mavcoated... then fluid filmed.

Clearly none of which helped in this weather...

Great success! Went out and broke in the brakes per the instructions...smelled the resin...Truck stopped multiple times...The grinding noise from the right front wheel bearing is gone...Now as long as the brake fluid stays at the level it's at in the reservoir I should be all set. I forgot how "soft" the tacoma brake pedal is to begin with so it felt to soft at first but after the 2 inches of normal travel BAM brakes engage stronger than ever....

Seems like every time I go out to eat lately, there's some sort of loud nerd debate nearby.

So, looking to plan next summers family vacation in the Boston area. Something on the water with tons of shit to do for a 8 yr old girl and us. Anyone point me in a direction to get started? Prefer not to stay in a city environment but touristy is ok.

Howdy everyone, hope the weekend was good. I was hoping to get some thoughts as I did a thing......... NO, I didn’t trade the taco for a Ford. JK.

I’m running Cooper Discover AT3’s. At the time I really wanted Goodrich KO2’s but I couldn’t get a 285/70r17 in a C load rating with raised white letters. (Those who know me know I’m partial to RWL :D ).

So I was messing around and found a deal on TireRack for the tires and the configuration I wanted. Needless to say they got ordered.

So now I have the AT3’s that are nearly new. Prob about 5-6000 miles. I also have my TRD sport wheels tucked away. They are perfect, not a single scratch. I was planning to hold on to them. Then I started thinking if it would be better to mount the coopers on them. I was thinking they’d be easier to sell like that? Or sell just the tires alone to recoup some $$$.

Any advice would be appreciated. Anyone need tires?

Separate I think would be best, I think together you'd still for less just cause the factory wheels typically don't sell for much. Keep them for winter set? Not that your truck has seen much salt :)
