Can’t remove spare tire

    I’m trying to remove my spare but it seems that I don’t have the full mechanism to do that can someone confirm please

    Should be slotted for the hook in your tools bag. That looks strange but cant tell if its just a bad pic. Is that some sort of keyed lock type thing?


    Edit: looks like it is keyed for a lock. Search google for spare tire lock and see the same pattern.

    A few things
    you Need a special key adapter that goes on the hook to lower it. It was a factory add on.

    Yeah that looks like a factory add on for a truck with wheel locks. Worst case drill it out

    I googled it and found out it is a keyed lock. I’m going to have to buy the key. Thanks for the info y’all!

    McGard lock. Tear the truck apart the key might be somewhere inside.

    My truck has a similar lock but I was missing the lock as the jack and tool bag were taken out. I called the dealer and they replaced everything free of charge. The lock is like $40 something irrc
