    many years ago I gave up one of my 200 mile tows (you get 2 a year I believe) to an OC TW member because his wheels fell off while on a night run on Santiago Peak, never heard from him after giving him the AAA membership number so that he can set up the tow. No thank you, just nada. I don't even know if he made it home ok. Later on I mentioned that in a post somewhere, the dude ended up blocking me. It's been so long that I forgot his user name. He had a white SR5 that we dubbed "The Transformer" lmao.

    Which gatekeeper are you talking about? If John Bull (which is what I was talking about) I was there a couple weeks ago.

    I helped @TXpro4X4 Bryan's brother as we headed out to Johnson Valley. I was the 3rd and last following and all of a sudden his brother's right front "nosed inward"??? I see the tire just kept going and BOUNCING along the way for well over 100yds!!! :eek::goingcrazy: He came close to actually up-ending nose first!!! :eek: Pretty damn scary shi* to see I'll tell you that much!!! :oops: Used my AAA to help him out since nobody seemed to have anything that would get him home since we were quite the distance already!!! It was "my way" of NOT leaving anyone behind... doing the best I could with the situation at hand and what little I could offer?! :thumbsup::fistbump::cheers:

    Bryan finally came back not really knowing what the hell just happened? He was ahead of us quite a bit.
    IMG_0676.jpg

    Finally stopped after quite a few yards!!!
    IMG_0665.jpg

    Look at the "flat spot" on the rotor!!! :eek::goingcrazy: He was sliding for roughly +50yds before coming to a final stop!!!

    IMG_0679.jpg

    IMG_0683.jpg

    We FINALLY made it to Johnson Valley after his wheel got fixed at a shop in Apple Valley (I believe it was AV). We setup camp fairly quickly!!!

    The next morning!!! :thumbsup::fistbump:

    :confused:
    Yeah, I felt pretty good in being able to do something like that. :thumbsup::fistbump::cheers: Nick (nicklovin) and I were left behind in Ocotillo on a night run near Holmes Camp Ground and that shi* was NOT F'N COOL and/or felt good. I had no F'N clue where we were because I wasn't familiar with the area we were in and didn't expect to get left behind like that??? :( It was a sinking feeling and I don't know how else better to describe that feeling!!! :confused::notsure: I was pretty F'N PI$$ED I can tell you that much. :mad::annoyed: F'N DOUCHE BAG in front of us just kept GOING??? How could one NOT KNOW that there were 2x rigs following??? :confused:o_O F'N STUPID A$$ A$$HAT man!!! :argue:

    Anyways... yeah, honestly brotha, I HAD to do/think about something and my AAA came to mind in having that mileage coverage!!! :thumbsup:

    Thanks brotha!!! :thumbsup::fistbump::cheers:

    Yes grasshopper. Don't forget that other services take away from tows. You get 4 visits from "us", regardless of their nature. Don't be the dumbass that runs out of gas 4x & then cusses us out when we tell you it'll be $XXX to tow your clapped out burgundy '97 Impala back to your apartment in "Harthon". /Rant

    I ran outta gas RIGHT IN FRONT of a gas station AS "I" was pulling IN!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I was commuting back and forth from O'side to San Diego coming home from night classes and simply short on cash!!! I was driving my drive-by shooter '88 Chrysler New Yorker. A surfer saw what was happening and immediately helped push me the rest of the way in. :thumbsup:

    Let's just say that ever since that experience, I will SKIP a few burgers for gas money!!! :rolleyes::D:p:laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    I’m fairly confident I could get my GFs GTI to the Gatekeeper if I had too. If you can’t get a Tacoma back there you need to get a Subaru and stay at the malls.

    funny you mentioned that, my gruop that I was with who all came from L.A. got left behind in Ocotillo on a day run by the SD TW peeps as well. Many, many years ago. The dude who I let "borrow" one of my tows was also left behind. We had him join our group that was left behind and were trying to move as fast as we can to try and maybe catch up. He got stuck in a sand wash and with him being 2wd and with him being a stock SR5 he had no recovery points anywhere on his Taco. So we had to wrap the recovery strap around the rear axle housing, unfortunately the recovery strap lifted up a corner of the rear bumper when it went to full tension. He didn't seem to mind knowing that there was no other option for a recovery until after a few days of one of the SD dudes said something about us thrashing the bumper. Then, a few weeks later he messaged me needing a tow because his wheels fell off, literally because he had incorrect lugnuts on his new aftermarket wheels.

    but before ANY of that happened, early that morning he decided to drive through a little puddle and got stuck, and needed to get pulled out..

    My Taco still had paper plates back then..

    Heartbreak / Heartbreak Ridge / Pontiac Sluice it’s all the same trail just kind of called different by diff folks...

    I was gonna ask what @85straight ’s opinion was and there it is. :fistbump:

    My opinion is that you’ll make it.
    We will be running the Heartbreak section in the down hill direction and with some good lines and easy goings I think you’ll be alright. Def be some challenges and some fun towards the last section. You might scrape up your undercarriage a wee here and there. :boink: Nothing to stress over.

    I’ve been wanting to get up to Tip Top myself now the last couple runs and haven’t been able to so that’ll be virgin territory for me and I’m sure the rest of us... shouldn’t be a problem though.

    It’s up to you. Come on in and I’ll add you to the PM and you catch up there.

    Be sure to tag @BLKTRUCK and we’ll get you added to the list...
