The 2.3 block was updated for the Focus RS. The Ranger uses the same block design with slight modifactions for the 4WD system. Internals are most likely different.

So instead of costing Ford $300 per vehicle in 2016, it'll cost them $400 per vehicle in 2019?

Frames, springs, axles are still made from steel, though, and they make up most of the weight of metal in the truck. :notsure:

US spec Ranger Lariat standard with heated 8-way Power Leather-Trimed Front Bucket Seats. Ranger Raptor also has power 8-way heated with leather & suede surface per AU specs.

You haven't been on Tacoma World long enough.

Adjustable power seats are the sign of an inferior product.

Raptor was supposed to have a diesel, but IDK if that was just the press seeing the Australian truck and thinking the exact same thing is coming here

I could see that if the Canyorado and F-150 Diesel still sell well. Would make for a hell of a work truck of they offered it in XL trim... But they probably wont.

I wonder which will do better in a crash 3rd gen Tacoma, or New Ranger?

Between these two previous generations of vehicles. I'd say the Ranger did better.

I know there are a lot of variables involved and no collision is the same.

Ranger was straight on (probably rear ended someone or caught between as the bed looks tweaked) and the taco was from the side(harder to do to yourself unless in a spinout so I'd guess hit from the right in an intersection), in both cases the cabs are pretty secure even with the taco taking a close hit on the A-pillar which caused the windshield damage. As you say, accidents vary. Best option is to drive defensively as we were all taught and avoid becoming another statistic. Leave room in front and look both ways even on a green.

Still not sure if they are going to bring it here but it would sell a ton if they did.
