I have been reading post after post both here and other places and some people say I need the LSD additive and some say I don't...

    2007 DCSB TRD OR 120K

I'm the second owner and I don't have any record of the first owner doing the rear diff fluid change

    Any professional insight?

You should see a white sticker on your 3rd member saying “lsd oil”. Typically the sport models came with the mechanical lsd and the OR came with a locking rear differential. Hope that helps

    Your owners manual should specify.

If you don't have one, you can download a PDF for free from Toyota.com

Anyone ever tried running no friction modifier in their factory LSD rear?

Will probably chatter but also bite much harder when you need it

Turns off traction control and allows a brake actuated "LSD" to kick in if it detects wheel slip without cutting out power

Skid marks with the word off below it should be traction control off switch. Don't quote me on this as I don't have this feature on my truck. It has nothing too do with what rear diff you have.

Then you're good to go without the additive. I personally just use synthetic on the diffs.
