What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Your Transfer Case knob confused ey greatly, and then I realized you had one of those special 4Runners. I've come across many 4Runner Limiteds at yards and I've never seen any equipped like that.

 

Anybody have any ideas before I need to replace that entire line for $400

Literally only thing keeping this POS on there is the hard line. It just keeps spinning with the nut

 

Lol optical illusion. I know right, just bought it a few weeks ago and this thing is packed full of wires/features..

 

I'll never understand why anyone buys Walbro pumps, they're all noisey, they all seem to have high failure rates, they say you can use your factory wiring (but that will not satisfy them), and the pressure is always lower than advertised.

I've been happy with higher flowing densos and Aeromotive pumps (what I have in my Taco and is completely silent)


Also for any that think they might have an idea what's going on. My Taco now randomly dies and refuses to restart for 10-15mins. I've checked just about every common sense item and some less common as well but would love to hear suggestions. And for those thinking fuel pump I did check that and it is running fine and even runs for a second after the motor cuts out so I know it isn't the cause. Fuel trims are normal and I have zero CELs.

 

So is the nut not wanting to break loose? That line that the vise grip is on should spin. Do you have a flare wrench? Those lines are just a pain in the ass also.

 

installed new headlights and side markers. super easy and fast install. there is a great video on Youtube. cheap $70 Amazon buy. ill see tomorrow morning how well they light the road. im sure it will be better than my old ones. ima respray with Plastidip this weekend.

 

Yeah I was able to use my 8" crescent wrench. But it's a badass wrench, no slop at all.

 

Fire, it cranks over just fine

 

I jumped the relay to pump to keep it on just to make sure, battery is tight and clean. I checked ECU grounds and sensor grounds. My next step is to paw over all the wiring to make sure nothing is melted or torn or something

 

Yup! It spins as one. I got the nut/hard like to spin for a bit but it the soft line tangled up. But yeah I’m using a flare wrench

Yeah it’s froze together. I’ve tried using a vice wrench to hold it but it’s bascially destroying the hardline. I’ve looked that PN up and it’s $400 or so.....

 

SOB, I don’t even know if heat would help there either. Damn,

That’s what I may have to look into is custom lines or something.

I may try that tomorrow since I’ve pulled it all far enough away from anything

 

Mine was definitely orange before I swapped
