    Hey everyone, I am Jeff.

I am about to go put my money down to order a Voodoo Blue 2019 TRD Pro. Already researched the mod list and open to suggestions. I am new to the Tacoma community... Kind of... I had a 2015 "Texas edition" Prerunner a while back, had a lifted custom SR5 single cab even farther back. had several other custom cars and was part of several other communities so looking forward to interacting in this one.

    Previous notable vehicles:
1969 Camaro SS/RS (part of several Camaro clubs)
    1998 Buick Regal (turbo)
1998 Eddie Bauer Ford Bronco, lifted on 35" BFG Mud TAs
1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX, show car and autocross car
1992 S10 Lowrider truck with 350 Chevy conversion
1992 Tacoma SR5 solid axle conversion, lifted on 42" super swamper tires.
2003 Subaru WRX (part of NASIOC and other Impreza Club for years)

There are more but those were some of my favorites.

    Anyway... Hello!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I also love the Camaros. I still kick myself DAILY for selling my 69... I also had a 87 IROC but.... we won't talk about that! haha... Actually it was not a bad car either, I did a crazy custom stereo in that one. I have trouble leaving any car "As Is" I think it is some kind of disorder. :)

Somewhere down the road I see a 1967 Nova in my future as well.

Your vehicles list includes a fair amounts of Mods. Consider getting an Off Road and mod it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I am about 99.99% set on the pro, Mainly because I REALLY want the Voodoo blue color but also because I love the pro suspension setup. I don't want the temptation of a bigger lift... with the Pro, I will be set on keeping the stock FOX suspension setup.

**IF I was to get an Off Road It will change to Calvary blue and an Icon stage 4-6 suspension lift would be added (tires would just change to a little larger 33" Ko2s) the rest of the mod list would really pretty much stay the same.

I like your choice on the new TRD Pro. I wish they were allowed to sell the turbo diesel motor in the USA

Honestly I almost went with a Colorado ZR2 because it is available in a Diesel. If it had a manual transmission option... and Toyota build quality and resale value (rather than Chevy build quality and resale value) I would be on a different page typing this. I will say waiting for a 2020 "Raptor Ranger" was also a bit tempting but again build quality and resale value would come into play.

You can’t go wrong with a 4Runner. I have owned 4 total. The last 2 were both 2016 models one was a sr5 4x4 the other was a trail model with the KDSS option. I must be honest and tell you that I have worked as a Toyota technician since the mid 80’s . I believe that the 4 runner is an awesome suv. Even in other countries the 4 runner is tops in build quality and reliability. The problem with the others are they are great when new but after a few years then you realize what you got. Toyota s have problems also but you’re chances are better . Good luck I’m sure you will enjoy your new vehicle.

Plus 1 for the 4Runner. I have a 17 Tacoma Sport and a 16 4Runner SR5. Same price, but the 4Runner is a much much nicer vehicle. I would reccomend the Limited Runner, so you get a "real toyota" that has full time 4wd with close to 50/50 power front and rear. If i do it again, I will get the Limited and stick some KO2s on it.
You really cant go wrong though. Good luck

Sounds like you will go with the manual transmission, an excellent choice! I was pleasantly surprised that my 2018 TRD Off Road w/manual was assembled in San Antonio - my former hometown of 50 years. Welcome!
