Hi all, I just picked up my first Toyota which also happens to be my first new vehicle just 2 months ago. So far it has been GREAT! Almost 6k miles on her already! I'm a self-made mechanic by hobby and usually not afraid to tackle the toughest of jobs when it comes to my own vehicles and am willing to lend a hand when needed with someone else's vehicles (provided they don't just drop everything and expect me to do it all). If you saw my handle, you probably saw the word "bronco" in there. No, I'm not a Denver Broncos fan and frankly I don't care for football (especially true today with all of the kneeling during the national anthem, but I digress). I have a 1974 Bronco as a show truck that I personally did 95% of the restoration work to including rebuilding the motor and swapping out the old C4 auto tranny for an NV3550 5-speed.

I don't have much in the way of plans for my Taco other than some simple but tasteful mods. Right now it's my daily driver, so I'm currently all about those MPGs. My only "mod" right now (if you can call it that) is CoverKing Neoprene seat covers. I'm an outdoors enthusiast, especially road/mountain biking, so I often get into my drivers seat drenched in either river water from kayaking or sweat and mud from biking/hiking. I definitely would recommend them to anyone!

Two things I learned about my truck that surprised me after I bought it are 1.) with having the longer version of this truck, the steering radius could be improved upon (my only complaint), and 2.) how darn ACCURATE the MPG estimator is! I've tracked my MPGs sporadically and calculated it by hand at least 4 times now, and every time the truck's computer has been within .1 MPG of my calculation! I'm impressed, especially with getting 24 MPG on my commute! Both my previous Subaru and my motorcycle were typically off by up to 2.5 MPG.

Anyway, if there are any meetups anywhere near central Maryland, I'd be interested to know more!

    Thanks for the add! Cheers!
