Is it generally possible to put in any 2nd gen bucket seats into a 2011 regular cab that currently has a bench seat? My bench seat does have the side airbags but I guess I could sacrifice them....

Reason is as mentioned by others, short wifey

02 standard cab here w bench... With a bucket swap, does each seat share the same full width mounting bracket, or is each seat independent with nothing in the middle?

Update: learned that it isn't a full width bracket, just independent seats.. but what I've noticed is that many of the bucket seats rear bolts, the inside-rear bolt specifically, is at 90° (sideways mount on the central hump in the floor board). I only have holes on the flat floor (rear), one of which is utilized by the seat belt (receiving portion) in it's stock configuration. Does anyone know for a fact that when you install a bucket seat of same year, that it will bolt to the flat floor where my seat belt currently is? Thank you.

About to try putting buckets from a 2002 into a 2003 with a bench at the moment. I found this as part of the research.

    Update:
Well, I'm in your situation now. I'm trying to put in seats from a 2002 regular cab into a benchseated 2003. The against-the-hump configuration of the rear bracket of both seats, as opposed to a floor-mounted bracket of the bench is a problem. Apparently in the regular cab 2002 there is a threaded hole in the hump. I suspect the seats are the same for all buckets and benches and that the drilled holes in the bodies at the factory are different, but I don't know for sure.

Now I need to find out how to deal with mounting this sideways bracket to the truck or, if I'm wrong and there is somewhere a bucket seat with a floor mount I could buy, look for that.

But, assuming I'll need to connect this sideways bracket to the hump, does anyone know the best process for this? I started drilling the pre-punched area on the passenger side, hoping it was plastic. Nope. It's brushed rubber or plastic over metal. I stopped drilling because I don't have a plan for beyond the hole? Should I try what the video above showed? If so, what size bolt and lock washer am I looking for, and drill bit, for that matter. I'll include pics. I looked beneath the truck and saw no location for the pre-punch. (In the photo the philips head sticking through is coming through the seatbelt anchor hole.)

Apologies if this photos are huge. I'm selecting "thumbnail" but it's not taking.

re hump in floor, trying to get 'hump mount' bucket seats into a truck that had a bench:

    my final thought is...

    1) remove the bench

    2) place bucket seat in truck, tighten the 3 bolts

    3) with the 4th hole (hump hole :) just mark the hole through the bracket, since it is now aligned.

    4) remove the seat, drill the hole, and re install with your choice of bolt/nut combo. Use large washers on the underside, perhaps bend/drill them a bit to conform to hump contour if needed. Youll want that surface area of the washer in the event of a collision.

The above is just my latest thought on how you could accomplish this. Any experienced persons see any flaws with that?

Looking to swap out bench seat for bucket seats so I can ride when my wife is driving
I am attempting same (bench to bucket conversion) and have same questions about the plugs where rear hump side seat mount goes. I have a 2002 std cab and these are not open. Anyone know if these are pre-threaded? I don't want to destroy any threads when drilling these holes out.

I had hoped mine were threaded on a 2003, and I tried punching them out first. Nope. I think the thread component really is a welded nut on the underside, judging from my experience replacing a bumper. I just got washers, bent a little, some loctite and a lock nut. So far, so good...to my knowledge (I haven't been back under) but nothing is wobbling.
