Let’s talk 3rd brake light

I live in South Texas and we’ve had tons of rain recently,couple of days ago I lifted my rear seats the access the storage compartment under the seats and noticed lots of condensation on the storage doors upon further investigation my carpet was wet took it to the dealership that afternoon and according to the manager service writer he’s seen a couple of Tacoma’s come in for the 3rd brake light leaking.Have any of you all notice anything wrong with water coming into the cab from 3rd brake light? According to him there’s a redesign of the 3rd brake light so I’m waiting for the new one to come in. thanks in advance

 

we've had a few 3rd gens in for the 3rd brake light issue, the seal around the light itself on some doesn't seal for whatever reason, so far every one we've had coming has been fixed by replacing the light, i do also believe a TSB may be out for it now too

the dealer i bought my truck from refused to warranty my 3rd brake light. had to go to another dealer that didn't give me a hard time. they just confirmed the issue and replaced it.. but now I'm dealing with my door locks not working all around. it constantly blowing a fuse. now i have to go back to the dealer.

 

Previous part number was 81570-04040. New one is 81570-04050.
What the difference is I don't know.
What I do know is Toyota should replace ALL of the old defective design. Just like they did with the shit blower fan impeller design. Difference, safety related.
They can warranty a Camry dashboard for 10 years if it becomes sticky (yes this is true) with a TSB, but only 36K for something that can wreck havoc water damage wise ???
