Semi-accurate representation of how long my 12.5” 6.8 SPC with suppressor should be, 12.5” 556 suppressed next to my 16” 6.8 upper.

I swapped all my furniture over to MOE on this rifle and really like it. It's pretty darn accurate as it is.

I found a source for an SBA3 brace at cost and decided to replace the Shockwave Blade on my Thompson AR Pistol. The blade buffer tube had no detents in it so I had to use an allan key every time to move it and it was just crewing in against the buffer tube - just a matter of time before I cracked the tube. It took less than 5 minutes to make the swap and I really much prefer the adjustability of the SBA3.

And I want to win the lottery... Most under $100 are "China Crap", all under $50 are barely airsoft rated. You get what you pay for.

I can get a Magpul MOE for under $50 or a fairly decent 7 inch free float for a bit above $50 that is made in the USA and it'll hold up fine. You don't have to buy the most expensive thing possible to get a functional build.

I was referring to free-float rails, as was the post I quoted. Magpul handgaurds are just fine
As I said, most rails under $100 are crap. But I would definitely agree that you don't have to get the most expensive thing to have a functional build, A $100-150 Aero rail is fantastic, and well worth the extra couple of bucks.

    My MK12 build so far.
Getting the correct parts for it has been a bitch up here... Still need some stuff.
I swapped the collapsible stock for an A2 recently.

Ohhhhh, gotcha haha. Def won't be going with the $30 one from Cheaper Than Dirt. People buy them, then get angry that they're made out of aluminium foil and pieces of a 2003 Chevrolet Aveo.

    Should I be concerned?

That small silver line on the bolt catch roll pin lug is a crack. Don’t know when it happened or how, but I noticed it was split when I was cleaning it. This rifle was pretty much a safe queen and has at most 500 rounds. I disassembled it until I can figure out what to do. Email sent to Spikes- waiting for reply.

Yeah it’s cracked. When the roll pin was installed you can see a small gap and it was more pronounced. Once I drove it out, the gap closed.
The other “cracks” are cosmetic. It’s the jack lower from spikes. The magwell is a skull and the “cracks” are part of the design. It doesn’t show up as well in photos since it’s all black, but I’ve seen these cerakoted with cool painjobs and they look awesome.

Worst thing I imagine happening is the pin pulls out completely, breaking the other lug but all that would accomplish I no lock back on an empty mag. Can’t imagine a catastrophic failure as in “blow your face off”. Just sucks to buy a “pretty” lower and have it fail in a stupid way. My shitty forged lowers get kicked around regularly and show very little wear.

I wonder if it was the right sized hole, maybe too small and the install cracked it? Maybe spikes will replace?

I hope so. I bought it assembled form them but hadn’t noticed it cracked till now (almost a year later). I know it wasn’t always there. Just don’t know when it happened. Not sure how replacement would work with registration or if they’d destroy this one and mill a new one with the same S/N.
    :notsure:

...Or they could tell me to kick rocks.
