I just received an email from Toyota stating Facebook, Pandora, and OpenTable will no longer be available via Entune.

I use Pandora...that sucks. Entune sucks!

I use my phone for navigation and music. It would be great to be able to just mirror my screen to the display.

I use my iPad for nav, and I have 4000 + songs on a mini stick plugged into the USB port. You don't even know it's there.

Except for the couple vehicle settings on there, Might be time to put a good head unit on there. At least there could be Android and Apple connections.
Will the steering wheel buttons still work? and lose some of those vehicle settings too.

You can make the steering wheel controls work with adapters but you’ll lose vehicle settings, yes.

No, not with a Maestro iDatalink. The only thing really lost is the Turn by Turn directions in the center of the gauge cluster.

I hate entune and wish auto manufactures and Apple and or Android could work together to get Apple auto or Android auto in vehicles.

There’s a good mounting option for the second gen that allows an iPad mini to sit over the screen. Not sure how to do that with a 3rd gen.

Backwards compatability used to be a high priority but acted as a constraint on software developement. Now it seems like everytime you update an OS you lose one or more apps you purchased a device to use.

Oh cool. I didn’t know about that. I guessed it was the same when I replaced it in my Ram. Learned something new today.

I rarely use my Taco system except for AM Radio and the back up camera, otherwise I use my phone for music and Nav. I don't even use it for incoming calls as I don't answer or make calls while I'm driving. Until Toyota makes the awiswi to Android Auto, I won't even give their factory head unit the time of day.

That’s why Toyota should give up on their crappy infotainment system and go to CarPlay and Android-whatever. I don’t know why they insisted on keeping and developing their shitty software for so long.

Looks like it's time to get a new head unit, one with carplay

Yeah but the Pandora sound quality is better when it's transmitted from the radio instead of Bluetooth! Duh! :anonymous:

    Convenience???

I prefer to have control on screen rather than have to unlock and use my phone... guess I'm weird like that
