Hi all fellow 4 bangers, I have a 2018 SR DCSB, I do not off road.

I am looking into lifting it and am not sure what to do. I have posted in the suspension forum but have received mixed info. Also several weeks of searching and reading through that forum has left me more confused.

I am looking for a lift no bigger than 1.5"-2".

I am asking this here because I have to imagine that our trucks are lighter than the others and want to hear from others in this situation. I would love to see pics and hear what you used and your opinions / experiences.

Currently, as I have it in my head, I would go with 5100's all around and spacers in the back. I don't know what coils to use, they all appear to add more than 2" of lift. Eventually, I will probably change my 265/70/16 tires to 265/75/16's.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I used the 5100s I set the front ones at 1.75 inches and used the stock springs, left the back stock and it leveled it out perfect for me. I went up a size on tires to a LT275 65 R18. Good set up, it was just what I was looking for.

I have 5100's all around set at 1.75 in front with 265/75/16. Been running this for years and its been great.

    Lighter? Than what? The 6-cyl?
Not really. Its a 4-cyl, but its a cast iron block that weighs a ton, compared to an aluminum block on the 6.
Why do you want to lift it? Since you don't offroad, you don't need bigger wheels, and therefore don't need additional clearance for bigger wheels, so all I can think is that you enjoy spending money on more fuel?

    Hi, I appreciate your concern.

Why do I want to lift it? I drive a cargo van 5 days a week for work and am used to riding in a high truck. While not as extreme, I would like the Taco to be slightly higher. What started this is I want a better suspension on my truck rather than the stock SR so might as well get a little lift when changing.

I may or may not change the tires, I will have to wait and see.

Spending more money on fuel... Because of said work vehicle, I fill up my Taco about once a month. If I was a daily driver, I would be more concerned of this.

If your just going for a little extra height and not so much to gain off-road abilities maybe just a spacer lift both front and rear would do it for a few hundred bucks.. Ill get the stink eye on this forum for saying that, but its inexpensive and sounds like it would fit your needs fine..5100s are a very good option as well. but a little more $ (will probably ride better).. I have a spacer lift and have no issues, don't really care if I'm impressing everyone on Tacoma World or not...
