Was going to take mine in to get checked out but wondering if anyone had any issues with Toyota finding bolt on rock sliders through the frame and if they’ve ever rejected it because of that? Can’t see why not but I’m sure they only need a reason.

I bought the truck used right from the dealership, "as is". They changed the windshield, inspected and coated the frame. I think they told me about the class action, or else I went in after joining TW, and then they told me getting the coating gave me 15yrs warranty or whatever. Nothing in writing, but dealt with this dealership forever, and trust them.
I read somewhere else in here that they'll do inspections if I ask or when I get them to service whatever.
But I've read here some guys refuse the coating, and that voids your extended warranty from them.
I live in North Bay, but the truck was from Kapuskasing, with highway kms.

That's good to know and at least your dealership is honest and is willing to inspect again and potently replace the frame within that time if the coating doesn't work.

I'm gathering everything I can in case they refuse my case. It would be a shame to let the truck go because of a hole in the frame.

Had my 06 TRD Sport in for the frame inspection and coating campaign in Nov of 2014. Was servicing it a few weeks ago and noticed the coating was bubbling up and a small rust hole under the coating right side up in the boxed section. Time to take it to the local dealer who also did the inspection and coating and see what they say 4 years after the coating was put on. I was hoping to keep it for a few more years, but might be time to get rid of it before it's worth nothing.

    What's your mileage? Just curious.
Why don't you wait and get the new frame, then keep her longer?

It’s at 290,000km’s now, runs great, still tight, it’s a great truck. Just kinda disappointed that a 12 y/o truck that’s well maintained and garage kept in the Fraser Valley has a rust hole in the frame!

Just got mine recently inspected at Westminster Toyota in New West. And I'm on the wait list for a frame replacement. You would never expect it from a truck in the fraser valley we just get rain and lots of it.

How long a wait do ya figure? I'm going to take mine in in the next in the next week or so and see what they say.

On average they say its a 3-6 month process its about the same for down in the states from the research I have done. The wait time is really just waiting for the frame and parts to come in. Its really not an off the shelf part that's for sure.

I took mine in to the dealer for inspection on August 22nd, they called me later that afternoon and said they submitted pictures to corporate for the frame replacement. I wasn't sure if that meant I was definitely getting a replacement or if that meant they were asking for corporate's approval.

I haven't heard anything since then so I called today and I was reassured that I'm definitely getting a replacement but that corporate is running slow. I'm #3 in line of 6 others.

Apparently their goal was to replace them all before tire season in October but it may end up being in the spring for me. So your 3-6 month estimate is spot on.

I purchased a 2007 AC OR MT in a private sale on Sept 10th. Before purchase I ran the VIN against the Canadian Recalls page https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/my-toyota/recalls and mine had the frame recall

    2018-09-21_9-04-26.jpg

Right after taking ownership I drove it to my local dealer to book an appointment for the frame and the 3 other open recalls, leaf spring, seat belt retractor screws and steering wheel cable assembly. Dropped of the truck on Monday the 17th and today I find out that it's getting the frame replaced. There are 2 trucks ahead of me so I should have my appointment second week of October.

Honestly I didn't think the rust was that bad, fully expected to only get the coating but I'm extremely happy that they are going to replace it. I'll post pics of it for reference later today after I pick it up from the dealer.

Very lucky and will definitely be nice once the truck has the replacement. I can't wait for mine as well.

I actually didn't know if any of those recalls were still ongoing (seatbelt, steering wheel cable). I will avoid the rear leaf recall since you get new ones with the frame replacement.

Here are the pics of my frame, they aren't the best but give a decent idea of what qualifies for a replacement.

Thanks for the pics, I was just researching what would qualify for a replacement. I have an appointment Tuesday to see what they will do. Compared to your frame mine isnt all that bad but i wouldn't mind getting the corrosion spray

Did they tell you that your frame will be in the first week of October? I have been waiting since July for any information. I was told by the dealership that it could be 6 months.

Which dealer and where are you located? Same thing happened to me. Told me my replacement will either be in October (before tire season) or in the spring. I'm in Ottawa btw
