Was replacing the lower intake manifold gaskets on my '05 4.0L today and noticed that the manifold seemed to be made up of 2 pieces, and it appears that there is a gasket between the 2 parts as seen in the photos. I've labeled the line between the 2 pieces as well as a rubbery tail which would appear to be part of the gasket connecting them.

I've replaced the 2 gaskets beneath the lower intake manifold and the only other gasket I can find on parts diagrams is the one between the upper and lower intake manifolds. I see nothing about a gasket between the two sections of lower intake manifold.

Has anyone come across this gasket or know if it is even possible to purchase?

U can separate it although there really is no need. i believe is uses engine sealant as the form of gasket

Seems like it's got a bit of oil passing through it. Perhaps this is a non-issue though. I'm not really sure. My logic was that if oil is coming out from the inside, than air may also be getting sucked into it.

Did you ever find out if Toyota sells a gasket for these 2 pieces? I took mine apart and now I’m worried I may not be able to get a replacement gasket for it. There is definitely a black rubber gasket between the 2 pieces and also a sealant along the areas where the 2 pieces join up.
