    I have a quick question for anyone that knows;

I am swapping out the Fog switch in the dash. One of the four switch connections is the 12v power that only comes on with the headlights. The others are the connection to the relay, ground and the dimmer.

Would it be possible to get anytime fogs by connecting a 12v ignition switched source in place of the one that only comes on with the headlights at the switch side? :notsure:

Initially I thought this might work, but after thinking about this for a minute I remembered that the fog light relay switches the power it receives from the headlight relay. This is what is bypassed and where a constant or ignition switched power source is connected. Supplying constant or ignition switched power to just the switch will not work.

Thanks! I figured the signal probably didn't originate at the switch but worth asking since I have to run a switched power up there anyway for some other switches.

I just came across this write-up I know it's old but I would love to do this on my 07 Tacoma. unfortunately my relay is not in that side box it's in the main box next to it. if I were to take a picture would you be able to make heads or tails of how to swap out the wires so I can use my fog lights anytime?

The wiring is a bit different on your truck. Try using the method in this post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cheap-free-mods.4838/#post-45430

Does this any time mode mean the fogs will stay on when you turn on your brights? Also do you still have the option to turn them off? I know...Probably dumb questions but I'm new to the always on mod but I love the idea.

Yes, this means you fogs will be on anytime the ignition is on and the fog light button is pressed, on with parking light, low beams, high beams etc.

There are a few other threads on how to do this with other methods in case you truck isn't wired exactly the same as mine.

Here’s my 2013 DCLB. I have no wiring like the others.
    upload_2018-12-12_13-12-30.jpg

Is there any reason I couldn’t just use an AAC on one of the mini fuses in the main fuse box beside it?
If so, where would you recommend @oOoSHADOWoOo? Once I find the 12v source I’ll simply swap it with the red/black on the fog relay correct? Many thanks!

You can use any source of +12v, If you tap into one of the fuses in the man fuse box make sure you do it on the load side. That way the wire you bring into the relay box is already protected by a fuse. You're only powering the coil of the relay anyway. You might want to cut the red/black wire and crimp on some male and female spade connectors. Also put a spade connector on the new wire supplying the switched +12v. This will allow you to very easily conceal the wire under the relay box and enter it from below. It will also allow you to un-modify this if you need to.

Great, thanks! Do I need to worry about the load side when using an Add a Circuit?

I used an add a circuit and put it in the factory towing fuse slot with the other end slid onto the one tab of the fog relay that you bend out. Can send pics upon request. I used a 5amp fuse for the fog light slot on the add a circuit btw

Cool, appreciate the input. I'm going to depin the original wire out of the relay slot so it can always be put back and I won't need to cut or bend anything.

I thought about that but said screw it, didn’t feel like pulling the terminal out from under the fuse box and if I ever need to I can buy another relay and pop it in. No wires cut or undone, 100% reversible. I’m anal about cutting into factory wires and I refuse to do those scotch locks to tap onto wires lol

So I’m having more trouble than I hoped finding a keyed 12v source to add this. With the orientation in the fuse box the add a circuit will only work at certain spots.

    Here’s mine

I’ve been using it in the factory tow package slot for a while, and so have others. Zero issue.
