Hey, I’m the proud owner of my first Taco, 2018 TRD Sport 4x4 DBSB, Blazing Blue Pearl. Unfortunately, after two weeks of ownership, I killed my first deer of the season...with my truck not my rifle. Im looking forward to getting it back tomorrow. Luckily, it was just cosmetic damage. The estimate from the insurance company was what I expected, except for the headlights are $800..for each..wow. All total it was $6,200 in damage minus my deductible. Can’t wait to get her back.

I am sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope you weren't hurt. The truck is replaceable, you aren't. Any way welcome to the group.

Thanks! I was completely fine. I was pretty upset. It happened pre-dawn on my way to work on a Monday. Damage was done mostly to the bumper, valence, headlights, and driver quarter panel. It also bent the transmission cooler back a wee bit.

Great to hear you weren't hurt. I hope your truck gets back to you in great shape. It it is not done right don't accept it till it is. I know it will be be hard to do, but look it over harder than when you bought it and test drive it to make sure everything works as it should.

Yeah, it will be tricky to know what to look for other than the obvious damage done to it. Good thing about where I took it is that my insurance guaranteed all the work for life since it was their “preferred” shop. They said if I notice something down the road in a few weeks or months or whatever that isn’t right or exactly how it was before the deer strike they would pay to make it right. So it’s nice having that peace of mind. It only had 1200 miles on it!! The funniest part is the “Pre-collision System Malfunction” light kept flashing.

Dang man, sorry to hear that. I bought my truck in April. We had to evacuate for the hurricane a couple weeks ago. Sitting at my Gmas house the neighbor backed out into mine and took off hit and run style. Cops got it squared away and insurance wasnt the headache I was expecting. The Kanawa county sheriffs office was cool. $2700 and 5 days in the shop. Where it was uninsured motorist my insurance only made me pay a 200 deductable.
