Let me know how you like it after playing with it for a few. I may want to go this route eventually. It's almost worth it just to have all the extra gauges integrated right into the unit (with Maestro).
Can you add custom PIDS into the Maestro for trans temps? I dont remember if you had done that already.

The guages are awesome to have.

There are even more guages that can be selected on the Alpine for some reason. It’s the same Maestro module, but I updated the firmware. That could be the difference.

The Alpine’s guage screen is a little fancier, IMHO. There’s only one trans temp shown. Not sure which sensor it is. There aren’t any ways to enter custom PIDs that I know of.

You will be able to tell which trans temp sensor it is when you drive. If it rises and falls 10 to 20° in a minute or so then its converter temp. If it's more stable then its pan.
Looks bitchen dude!!! Which idatalink parts did you get?

It’s probably pan temp, because it’s very stable.

    Maestro module is ADS-MRR
    Harness kit is ADS-HRN-RR-TO1

If you pull off the little black cap off the front of the secondary air injection pump there should be a little piece of foam in it.
The mod is removing that cap altogether and putting a small Uni Filter in its place. Let me see if I can get you the part #.

Found these pics in another thread. Take out the old grey foam and install the little instead.

Working on a DIY roof rack. Starting with the top rack. Pretty much like a PRINSU, but less sophisticated.

    2” wide x 1/4” thick aluminum flat bar and 80/20 1” x 2” x 47” extruded aluminum.

    A49D95FB-F9E8-4166-9866-38864A10EFFD.jpg

Chopped the flat bar with a table saw to 53.5” long. Seems like an arbitrary number, but I copied what Frontrunner offers. Radiused the corners with a flush trim bit in an inverted router.

    4660EA78-D2C2-4DD3-A94A-8A5FE1FAD655.jpg

Drilled holes using a drill press for 7 cross bars, spaced roughly 6” apart. Countersunk the holes for flat head M6 x1.0 bolts.

    image.jpg

    Got it bolted together temporarily.

    2FF2538A-D2F1-4EF0-9762-17BF3DED4209.jpg

Still need to figure out how I’ll mount it to the topper. The topper already has Thule tracks from the factory. So it hopefully should be too hard to do. Open to suggestions.

I’m no mechanical engineer, so maybe there’s a reason for this. Why would the roof tracks be angled? Seems like they’d be better angled the opposite way so the angle of the track compensated for the curve of the roof.

I think I’m going to take one off and see it I can flip it around the other way.

The rack is lookin good man. Not sure why the roof rails are the way they are. Hopefully you are able to figure it out.

Oh, and you are out of paper towels.

    Looks good bro.

Angle is probably there to distribute any load on the rack not only downward but also outward. Think of a load at a 45° angle down and to the outside. Puts more weight over the verticle structure of the shell.

Thule I'm sure sells inserts for their track system which you can adapt to your custom rack.

Well, I took the rails off and flipped them around. Now they sit perfectly flat in relation to the rest of the truck.

Made adapters from 1” aluminum square tubing.

Got it all mounted up. Looks pretty good and feels very solid. I just need to take the side rails off and paint them later on.
