I am currently deployed to a sandy place and I've been looking at stuff for my truck when I come home. I am trying to see if you guys had any info or recommendations on subwoofers since I obviously dont have access to my truck right now. I have a 2017 Tacoma Off Road without the premium audio.

I have already done the kicker speaker and subie tweeter upgrade and noico sound deadened my doors. Next is a subwoofer.

I have been looking at the OEMaudioplus sub, Taco tunes subs, and JBL stealthboxes. My biggest goal is to keep the plastic storage spaces and basically just drop a sub in. The only subs I have seen that can do that are the stealthbox and the OEMaudioplus subwoofer.

It might be an odd question, but does anyone know if the 2015 stealthbox could fit in a 2017 truck? I like the fact the 2015 stealthbox has a a mount for the amp attached to it and wouldn't mind doing something like that.

For the OEMaudioplus sub. Would it be possible to remove the sub and replace it with a sub with a higher RMS? Or is the 100rms sub that is in there relatively good? I have done dual 12 inch 500 RMS subs in my old sedan when I was a kid and I don't want to do that again. I don't want to rattle the neighborhood. Well maybe rattle it a little but not like I used to be able to.

15 will not fit properly in the 3rd gen. the vents located behind the rear bins make this the case. it will look like it fits but push the vents out of place and allow water to enter the cab.

id stick w/ the JL stealthbox for the 3rd gens

Thank you for the information. I appreciate it man.

Do you have any recommendations for subs other than the JBL stealthbox for 17s?

An Image Dynamics IDQ-10 in a custom 1 cu ft sealed box will work.

I see you cut part of the plastic storage bin for your set up. Did you have to remove the hooks in the back for your set up ?

    OEM audio plus, dual amp
Oem does have a dual amp option for $300 extra, which gives the sub its own amp and the speakers get the other 360w amp. It hits, but nowhere near what my jl10w7 put out in my xterra. But the oem system is so simple and easy, with clear and aligned vocals that you might love it.
