Couldn't agree more! Ha! Sounds AWESOME on the low end! After about 3krpm on my rig its clear that it is a V6! That being said its the "rumbliest" sound you can get and my sound definitely changed from install til now. @St.Germain id say after about 2k miles my truck sounded as it will forever! From my last vids I posted she has a lower tone and a really cool "grumble" as she down shifts. At a stand still people ask me if its a V8...haha! At least when I hit the higher revs the "tin-like rice sound" is no where to be found like othrr systems. Over all I couldnt be happier and it takes a few miles to get her to sound "better!" Still no V8, but i'll take it!

No exhaust drone on mine either...maybe you have an exhaust leak?

My TRD pro drones a bit at exactly 70 mph in 6th (MT) . I just go a little over or under and it goes away. If the radio is on, you cant really hear the drone regardless.
Being used to a silent exhaust on my previous vehicle, I briefly considered installing a regular oem exhaust, but that one has a bit of a rasp at the tailpipe that the TRD pro exhaust turns into a deep tone. To me the regular exhaust sounds a bit like those old 3 cyl geo metros, or like a v6 colorado.
Trd pro exhaust is perfect for making the minivan engine sound bigger than it is.

thanks for that. i really do need to get a decent video but seriously you can feel the low the with this system, it's so deep I'm not sure you can even record it. the sound is nuts.

I don't think it is a leak. The Sport was just so quiet that the difference is really noticeable I guess. My 2013 TRD Sport sounded really good for a V6.

Reviving this not too old thread...
I’ve had many sports exhaust, some moderate, some loud but they didn’t drone. The TRD exhaust drone is annoying as hell to me. What have you guys done to remedy or leave as is?

There is a drone. If you don’t hear it you might not have the CAT back exhaust, have hearing loss or use to drones from previous exhausts. It’s not as loud as FMs or others. You’ll either get used to it or take it off and put the OEM back on.

You could try talking Toyota into playing fake V8 sounds in the cab like Ford does:eek::thumbsup:

I have the pro exhaust and have never noticed a drone. As previously stated, it’s louder on acceleration than stock but it’s not too loud at all. Quiet at idle and cruising. I like it.

What is this drone you're talking about? I think some of you just need a little perspective. Find someone who has a Flowmaster 40 and take a ride with them. Then tell us how you feel about your TRD catback.

Not sure how different the pro exhaust is from the ORs, but I owned a 1st and 2nd gen Tacoma prior to my new OR. I didn't care for the exhaust sound on my 3rd gen when I first got it... sounded too bro-y to me. I'm warming up to it now though.

I ditched mine before I had a thousand miles on it (2020 Pro). Put a stock OR exhaust on, traded a friend. I didn't like the sound at all. Now we are both happy!

Love my pro exhaust. Sounds great for a v6. Coming from the diesel community these trucks have no drone.

Interesting that Pro owners are not liking the Pro exhaust.

Different cab and bed configs might be a reason for some chassis having drone and others not.

    No drone on my DCLB.

Its the nature of a V6. The F150 ecoboost has the same sound. It's just not a nice sounding engine configuration.

Even the Ford GT doesn't sound very nice.

The secret is stock non-performance exhaust and just stick to an intake if you want noise.

For some reason people want to hear their trucks "rumble" but tacoma just doesn't do a nice job.

I'll keep telling people to not buy an exhaust on here as long as I am posting.
