I've seen some deals like you've seen. But patience pays off I think. I do know that where I live there is a $1500 rebate on new '18s sitting on dealer lots. So maybe new may be the better route for you if it's the same where you're from. I found my used '18 Tacoma at a Ford dealer. And since I was driving a '17 F150 they were pretty anxious to trade for it. Try looking online at Ford, Chevy, Ram, Jeep, and other new dealers besides Toyota dealers. You may find some that way... Good Luck!

I went shopping used and just couldn't wrap my head around the pricing. Knocking a couple grand off in exchange for an unknown stranger behind the wheel for the past 15,000 miles? I'll pass..
I liked my sales lady from the used lot, so I simply asked her to walk across the street and sell me an '18.

Part of the reason I bought a new one. Originally I wanted a 12-15 but they were going for 27-32k with 30-50k miles.

    Also I couldn't find a dclb or.
I was able to order exactly what I wanted.

Bought mine a month ago - 2016 double cab TRD off road 4x4 27,000 miles $22,200
It was a company executive lease that was turned in and I bought it through the company (part of the Toyota family) so probably not fair to compare to what the general public can get on the used market. Had to sign agreement to not sell it within one year of purchase.

Not as good as the deal above, but I just purchased a used 2017 TRD Off Road 4x4 with a SnugTop shell with 25K miles on it. Has Tech package (sunroof, dual zone climate, 7" Entune, heated seats and mirrors), TRD Exhaust, TRD air-filter, TRD shifter knob, electric rear window, crawl function, paint protection film as well as the Toyota all-weather mats. Sticker price was $41K (without Snugtop). Got it with the the Snugtop (priced it at $2500) for $33K walk-out (included TTL).

Felt like that was a decent deal for the options it had and it was well taken care of. Looks brand new inside and out. IMG_6840.jpg

Right before I bought my Tacoma new, I looked at a used '16 same build at a no-haggle lot. It winded up being $200 less than the one I bought new. The sad part is that was a fair asking price too.

I'd be pretty careful trying to get a used one, I got a model year newer and 19,998 miles less for $200 more.

Great point!! I got the truck listed above at a Buick/GMC dealer right next door to a Toyota dealer. I looked hard for one at Toyota and couldn't find the right deal...new or used. Walk next door and drove it away.

Think you got a great deal...! That topper looks great, too. I'm going to order a new one(topper) tomorrow. I'm getting a Ranch brand. Base price is $1325 for painted to match my Barcelona Red truck w/short bed. Comes with sliding front and side windows. I'm gonna add the fabric liner for $109. So I think that's a pretty fair deal. Found a black one n St Louis on craigslist and guy came down to $650 but all the body shops around here are quoting $500-700 to paint it. They all say Red is the hardest color to match.... Too close of a price to new to buy used and hack with getting it painted. Anyway, sharp-as-hell truck my friend!

I just purchased a used 2017 TRD Off Road 4x4 with a SnugTop shell with 25K miles.

Thanks man. I really like the camper top. I had one on my '10 Prerunner and love the functionality. My wife hates them and the look, but I love the look and the function.

Mine has the carpet headliner, fold down windows all around with slider/screen windows too. It also has roof rails and a LED light already mounted in the interior. I really like the topper much better than my old one and I didn't have to really pay additional for it when I bought the truck.

Buy yours and don't look back. You'll love it!!
