camburg kinetik vs icon billet

    anyone familiar with the camburg kinetik ucas and icon billet's? I'm leaning towards the icons because of the delta joint and the covers if running the ball joints. what does the camburg have going for it?

    not familiar with camburg but I had Icon billets for 4 months and got rid of them because they squeaked like a mofo!

    Workin' on it....
    I was under the impression (and I could be wrong) that anytime you are using a heimed upper, it will squeak more because there are no greasable bushings but that’s the price you pay for more adjustability, the option of solid mounting the lower mount and getting rid of the cam alignment system and having a mounting system that is going to withstand far more abuse than bushings.

    i didn't realize the heimed joints wear out like uniballs. i guess it should be common sense but i guess i figured they werent a maintenance item. because of that I'm probably going to be boring and stick with my tubulars with poly bushings.

    Even the poly bushings on tubulars may need replacement at some point.

    Yeah I think that is the general consensus. Not sure what the exact replacement interval is for heims......probably depends on how hard you push it.
