Anyone else's head unit die?

My head unit will not come on sometimes when going from reverse to drive.

 

I get by alot with Spotify on the extreme playback setting. Its not too bad and close to 320Kbps mp3's. I got a samsung tablet for offroad nav and what not, loaded it up with a big sd card and a ton of flacs, but the silly headunit doesnt recognize it over the usb port HD radio is actually pretty good quality. Once I get some other mods handled that are in my garage, i am probably gonna get an aftermarket HU. But just like you, this works for now.

 

Okay so I still have about a year left min occasionally gets stuck in a restarting cycle and I have to hold the power button down for it to fully reboot and start working again.

 

I’ve already had one headunit replaced because it started rebooting nonstop and couldn’t get it to stop. That was about 6 months ago but the new one still reboots every so often. It doesn’t bother me so much I just hate that everytime it reboots it resets my route trace for my navigation.

 

Update.

Took it in and they said there was a firmware update that fixes the crashing. Getting it back today and had the latest transmission TSB done. We'll see how it goes when I pick it up.
