Priorities, brother, priorities. I'd rather spend money on building a spare engine once I get the mods I can do done than upgrading something that while it might bring my alignment back into spec is eventually going to cost me more in the long run when it needs the ball joints replaced. And after the spare engine is built (and probably installed so I can rebuild the old one for an actual spare while it's still rebuildable), then I'd rather save up for a crawl box, by which time I'll probably be too old decrepit to go wheeling anyway, lol.

Hu? I don' see how one or two unmarked cars, with their lights on, behind another trooper, backing him up, qualifies as entrapment when another car fails to move over for the trooper, which is a law, or speeds by the trooper that has someone pulled over, which is another law, qualifies as entrapment? To me they are clearly visible with their light on. You "should" move over if possible and be doing close to the speed limit. Correct me if I'm wrong? A well defined "speed trap" to me, would be an unreasonable speed limit on a road that does not require such a speed. Also, remember law enforcement does not set the speed limit our elected officials do. Not to stir the pot just saying is all. I'm actually not a fan of troopers but from what I can see in the scenario it does not seem like a speed trap.

Hahaha quotas are illegal. We don't have them. They can encourage tickets in certain areas especially doing highway interdiction but there are no quotas.tickets are merely at the discretion of the officer. But, in reality that's all troopers do.

In Texas it’s considered deceptive posting if you have a marked cruiser with lights on posted up behind an unmarked car pretending to be stopped under the guise of a traffic stop for the sole purpose of busting people. I get the “move over law” and that is legit, but posting up like that to catch speeders is considered a type of speed trap.

There were several municipalities in Texas that had stretches of highway where the speed limit would go from 60 to 45 in less than 1/4 mile and there were no speed limit change warning signs and the 45 limit sign was posted around a blind curve or just over the crest of a bridge and officers would be posted up clocking drivers passing the 45 sign above the limit. Speed trap.

Florida has a small town famous for this as well. Waldo, FL on US301 between Gainesville and Jacksonville is notorious for it and now has speed trap warning billboards for miles both directions. The speed limit changes from 55 to 40 to 30 to 55 and back to 40 all within a mile through the town and up until 2010, there were no speed change warning signs between the posted limit signs.

Maybe they are referred to as "productivity goals" or something else ,but is not coincidence that there is a increase in tickets"citations" given at or towards the end of the month.

Nothing wrong w/ driving slow on a trail, I don't get out of 2nd gear when I ride, some of y'all like to drive like a bat out of hell for some reason. Yes, there are some 1st timers and they may get stuck, but that's all good. It's a part of the fun. It's a good group of people enjoying some trail time. That's what it's all about. Getting out, riding, getting a little dirty, and shooting the shit. It doesn't have to be some professional Off Road Park every time. Citrus is local for a lot of us/them, so that's why it's been there for the past few times. He started the group just to get a few people to go out and ride, it turned into more than he expected, so obviously, a lot of people don't mind driving slow and getting stuck. I seriously don't understand all the fuckin hate about this lately, it's childish. I still love you guys (nohomo), but damn, lighten up lol.

We keep moving. We don’t like when people get out a hundred times to go up one area. We did over 60 a few times a few trips back. Realized how stupid it was and don’t do that anymore. And Derek :boink:

Well said, even if I am one of those folks that likes moving faster. This is why we divide into groups at the big meets like the Fall Camp & Ride and the Annual Meet, so the people that like running slower can do so and those that like running faster don't get frustrated with the slower folks.

I tend to do around the speed limit, which at Citrus is 30 mph. If you run faster between the semi-challenging spots it tends to smooth out the bumps so you don't get beat to death. I'll admit though, I don't have the stones to do 60 like some people (cough)Greg(cough) do down those trails.

From what @LMarshall73 has told me about the No Mall Crawl group, they would probably have more fun at Richloam than Citrus since they seem to like mud (not that there's anything wrong with that) and Richloam mud is a lot more fun than Citrus mud. You actually have a chance to use a little skill to get through the hole at Richloam, where as Citrus, with the hard clay, you either have the ground clearance to walk right through it with no issues, or you end up high centered.

I should also say, I would probably have fun with the No Mall Crawl group since I enjoy the hell out of doing recoveries. It's pretty much more fun to me than anything else at Citrus is any more. Too bad I'm an old fart that doesn't do FB.
