I just used double sided gorilla tape and ran the cord through the AC vent! I was extremely happy with the location.

I was gonna say you must have ran cord through the vent but wasn’t sure how it was fastened. Did the tape leave any residue?

Does this read the transmission temp? And you are using it in your 2005?

Nope! None at all. I was a little surprised.

It can, but you have to input the codes from somewhere on the Internet. I have a manual tranny so there’s no temp to monitor. I mainly used it to monitor my engine temp.

Is there a model number so I can look up the information?

I’m buying an ultragauge because it has an audible alarm. My truck runs a little hot and I’m paranoid it’s my head gasket, so I want to know ASAP if I get above 220°. I regularly monitored my scangauge but I want the peace of mind of an alarm.

Ah I see. I bought mine (scanguage) about 12 years ago for fuel mileage and I was so surprised that they essentially are unchanged and still so popular. Ever had any experience with those Bluetooth OBDII dongles and phone apps?

    Yep.
Dongles require u to change ur phone screen and turn app on, drain battery or plug in, vanish if u get a text.

Ultragauge monitors sooooo many sensors at one time it's too much for some with the ADHD. Especially when u have it scroll thru pages.

I went back to scangauge as I only need to monitor voltage, water temp, intake temp, and trans temp at any 1 time.
I also have seperate boost gauge and wideband afr to pay attention to.... Mainly the afr.....I do try and stay out of boost up long grades at lower rpm.

I did like the alarms on the ug..... But to be honest I liked the "idea" of them actually, because I never set 1. No point if I was always watching my gauges anyhow.

That's a fair price and ScanGauge is about 7 miles from us. If I want to check certain parameters I just drive down to James (son-in-law of the owner) and let him program it in. Their warranty is perfect. I had the plastic clip that holds the cord/cable in the back break off. I just walked in and asked if I could buy this part. The lady took it from me and walked in the back then came back out and handed me a new cable. Than said Thanks is there anything else I can do for you. I said no change she said no it has a lifetime warranty. I have one in all our cars / trucks!

    :)
