I was leaving our subterranean garage and scraped the front passenger side bumper against the wall. What is the best way to fix this and get it looking new again?

There is no body damage and it is only the paint.

On the cheap you could use an airbrush with touch up paint. Realistically, the front bumper needs to come off, have the affected area blended in, and the whole bumper clear coated.

Touch up paint, did something similar.

Don’t worry about painting the whole thing, it’s just going to get scraped again, it’s a truck

True but was hoping to get more than a few months with it and a better story than trying to get out of the garage.

Or replace that bumper with a steel bumper. What is the cost for all that work in CA you think?

I usually use this https://www.drcolorchip.com/ on the rock chips on my car it fills them perfectly... that might be too big for this but it's worth a shot

I did something similar and still haven't gotten it fixed. However, the 3 body shops I went to quoted me for around $1,000 to have it either replaced completely or repaint and smooth out the whole bumper. They said fixing just that one area wouldn't look good because it has an "orange peel" texture that can't be replicated.

I just got a quote for 300 to 400. Ridiculous how much something like this can be. I can't see the labor skill level justified for something anyone can do if they have the time.

If you want a fix that looks good and will last, just take it to a good body shop. You are looking at 400 - 500 bucks worth of damage if you are in CA. Dont fret too much. These things happen. Pay up to get it fixed right and move on.

That's not bad but I'm assuming its to fix the damaged area only? I agree with you, it has me being way more cautious now.

True I know. I could use that to get armor for under the truck though or put toward some sliders. Hate to waste it like this.
