They have been definitely doing 1.9% (possibly lower) in some regions of the US this summer via Toyota.

Base price is 35,813 and they aren't even giving him 2k off. Unless he is in Cali he should at least get double that off minimum.

My advice then would be to never buy a house, never get married, and never have kids. ;)

    Lol, I hear that.

My house is on a fifteen year note and it sucks. Not saying debt isn't necessary for average Americans, but I do hate it

I dont think there are many people doing better than 10% off sticker, let alone 11% off sticker like you suggest is the minimum. Maybe you are just a great negotiator.

You should check out the what did you pay thread (giant thing). People are doing even better than 4K off MSRP. 2019’s are pretty much here and dealers are really wanting to move old stock.

I got about $4,250 off MSRP on a leftover 2017 in 2018. Not entirely all off the MSRP. They like to change the trade in value to bring the price down. $3,500 off MSRP and added $750 to trade in. The trade in was valued at $1,750 on KBB and I ended up getting $2,500 on it. Private party was maybe $3,000 to $3,500. I'm sure they lost money on my trade unless some moron at the auction over paid.

Not as good of a deal I see guys getting on 18s though. They really ramped up production though from I gather and have a lot more on lots.

Yeah, you guys get the short end of the stick ha I don’t think the 1.9% was up here either. I believe it was 1.9% or 1000 cash.

I think you could take their low financing offer or the $1000 rebate instead

Some states you have no choice. There may be a cap but no floor in some states. Here unless it is a "One price no negotiation" type place, the doc fee will be around $599, and thats pretty universal.

That's exactly what it is. I opted for the rebate and a 36 month loan, since I plan on paying off my house in a month or two and wanted to have the cash for that before paying the truck off. Doc is different, state to state. In MD it's 299. As far as those spread 10 worksheets go, they aren't always run at the exact rate, to make sure the dealer has some cushion for any back end products like warranties, etc.

I looked out of curiosity. There are no rules in his state, which means he should be able to get it down. I would try. Average in his state is $402 compared to $698 (no idea how accurate the source is). I'd call that dealership out.

Yeah man like others have said I think you are overpaying. I'm in socal also. I used the trucar app and managed to get $2500 off msrp which brought me to $34.5 before ttl. I have a TRD sport with tech package. Tech package or 4x4 were both $3k each and I opted out of 4x4. So essentially you should get a TRD for relatively what you are going to pay. I opted for $3k down and the longer term at the higher interest rate. I figure if you save off msrp then it's nice to have the lower payments also. Hope this helps.

To the OP, if you can't swing it at 60 months, do not get this truck. Get an SR. Or better yet, go find a used truck for less.

Remember the rule of thumb in purchasing cars: Your payment should not be more than 20% of your disposable income. That's just a general rule, which I think you should be more conservative than that. And carrying a note for 6 years is just ridiculous. Someone mentioned a mortgage--there is a difference between good and bad debt. The house actually appreciates in value.

I already got a truck with Logix FCU financing. 1.7% for 5 years. I remember the dealer only offer %3.75
were these offers available for 16-17 models?

I'm not sure for '16's. But last year, I remember '17's had 1.9% up until the holidays, then it went to 0.9%!

my rule of thumb is the vehicle should not cost me total more than my yearly income this includes insurance and maintenance.

that way over the life of a payment the truck will only be about 20% of my income. manageable for some others not so much
