I have a question about the rear suspension setup on my 2015 Tacoma 4x4 double cab SB.

I want to purchase the OME EL095R-P springs that is good for a medium load no bumper etc.

Next year I will get a dual swing high clearance rear bumper. Will adding the EL46XK-P add a leaf will this make the OME springs be the heavy 660lb load springs??? Or do I need to buy new springs when adding a rear bumper?

    Seen here. In other words:

    EL095R-P + EL46XL-P (OME Extra Leaf) = EL096R-P (660lb leaf)??

Awesome, that is good news. Thank you. That means I do not need to purchase a new set of leafs just an OME add a leaf.

Dude it doesn’t ride as stiff as people say. Get the HDs and save yourself time and money.

I believe it's cheaper to buy the HDs and remove the leaf, instead of buying the MDs and then buying the AAL separate later on.

Yeah cant wait. Ordering Kings next month. I have SCS Ray 10 wheels and Icon delta joint UCA's in the garage now.

Need to get BruteForce fab front and rear bumpers with some custom touches and Vagabond Drifter color matched.

Is that was you are running without a rear aftermarket bumper?

I did not know that was an option. I am not familiar with leafs, (coming from the 4runner world). I need to look into this.

If you search around here it's been talked about. I know I've come across a few threads while searching for general info on the Dakars. I'm in a similar boat as you. I want full packs, but in the next year or so I also want a rear bumper worth swingout.

As someone who just put the mediums (EL095R) on his truck myself...

Do yourself a favor, get the HD (EL096R) pack if you are planning on having any consistent weight in the bed. You will be taking the leaf packs apart anyways if you are smart to put some paint on them and to put leaf liners between the leafs and grease everything up proper. While doing so you could pull the 3/4th leaf down to make it a medium pack, or just run the HD pack all together from the get go.

Just get the heavy duty pack from the get go. I went with the mediums and wish I would've got the heavy duty... I got scared by all the talk of the stiffer ride but its really no big difference (after riding in a truck with the HD's) from the mediums as far as I'm concerned. If you use your bed at all or trailer things you will appreciate the HD.

I feel the opposite as y’all. I have plated rear bumper and sliders. My medium Dakar’s are stiff as shit. I can jump up and down (195lbs) on my rear bumper and get between 1/4” and 1/2” movement. I towed a 1,500lb enclosed trailer, empty, and it was bone jarring.

I must have some weak springs cuz my 160 pound ass gets in the bed and jumps and its like I'm at a low rider meet. lol

I've got the HDs with a topper, which really doesn't weigh that much, and I've been happy with the ride. Not too stiff at all.

Awesome, makes sense to go HD then.

What liners is everyone using? I do not like squeaks and the stock leafs are quiet and do not squeak. I'm willing to unpack the leafs and install the liners for a quiet ride.

The new ones haven’t squeaked on me yet... I think that was part of the “upgrade” from the CS packs.

I don’t have liners on mine, but I greased my bushing inside an out very liberally with moly grease an once on sprayed some fluid film on the leaf packs. I’ve had mine since July an have wheeled with them in really dusty an wet conditions no issues.

Also @chmura i went HD’s intially cause they were just a few dollars more but I just have a regular rear HC rear bumper it’s a little stiff but still rides better than stock if this was still on your mind.

Seems like the best way to go is get the OME HD leafs and if the ride is too still remove a leaf.

I wont have front/rear steel bumpers until early to mid next year. I hope I will be okay going with HD's. Also I am going with 700 lb coil rate King shocks. Everything too stiff is making me nervous until I get my armor on..
