Keep in mind they recommend 700lb springs for the 3rd gens because their front end weighs more. ADS recommended the 700’s even with my little 130lbs winch bumper combo because the 3rd gens ride better with those springs. I exhausted this question with the ADS staff

Really? There is a significant weight increase for the 3rd gen over a 2nd gen?

Yes, believe it or not the engine is heavier.

Also, the front end is longer so speaking in a matter of physics, the farther you extend weight out from the front from the suspension, the heavier it feels to the suspension.

Hold a 20lb weight close to your chest, then extend your arms out straight...you won’t be holding it long. Same principle applies

I opted for 700lb springs myself, 3rd gen with no armor yet. Install this Saturday.

How much lift are you getting? I have a hybrid bumper, winch, aluminum skids, and steel sliders. Went with 650lb springs hoping to get 2" of lift. I havent installed yet but im really hoping I wont have to pull everything off a second time to change the springs.

I am in kinda in the same boat. I went with 650lb springs for my 11 dclb and hoping i didnt make a bad call by not going 600 lb. Only planning on skids and probably sliders at some point. AdS are sitting in the garage waiting for my RXT’s to get here.

Looks sick! Plus you got the silver which is honestly the best color (lol). HD packs are 7 leafs right? I had 6 leafs in mine originally but removed one due to less rear weight. Can’t wait to get mine installed. Also putting 17” TRD Pro wheels soon with 255/75’s

You should be ideal with the 650# spring on a 2nd gen

    Lots of expensive shit
We have been working on all the 4 Runner Stuff. While the shock is similar, there are differences. The 03-09 have different lower spacers than the 10+, also the 4 Runners have a different hose configuration than the Tacomas. They have done remote resi with clickers, but not regular remote resi. We have been been trying to get everything sorted out on the 4 runner stuff, its just taken some time. All the part numbers are sorted out now and they are waiting on some parts to be finished for the shocks, they did a large run of the Tacoma fronts and ran out of some of the parts to build the 4 Runner shocks. We were also trying to do a final fitment check on resi brackets before doing a large batch of the brackets. The 4 Runner stuff has not been very popular for ADS in the past, but it is becoming more popular and having a 4 Runner personally now is making it alot easier to finish up R & D for them.

ADS is a smaller company, and they are also based out of Tucson, so outsourced stuff like plating and anodizing isnt as abundant as places like So Cal, so sometimes the outsourced services take much longer than expected and it snowballs from there. They have been making a concerted effort to increase batch quantities and get more items in stock. Unfortunately small companies go through growing pains.

Is anyone else running 650lb springs up front on a 3rd gen? What kind of weight are you carrying and how much lift do you have?
