did you have the dealer check drive shafts? and axles? being a tech and seeing similar feelings on cars we have a way to test axles while driving and its normaly accurate (well its a start in right direction).. when driving and feel the steering wheel shake can try safely shift to neutral and see if the shake gets less or goes away .. on cars if goes away we look at the axles but telling what one is bad is the trick unless its torn and can tell, normaly just replace both. I know trucks and cars are way different but its a step in right direction, and with a truck it could be a unbalanced drive shaft .... no clue how to rule that out thou lol ...just my two cents

My brand new 2017 has this. Dealer is swapping my wheels and tires from my truck on Sat, said they will address this as well, it feels like an out of balance tire, but from the factory?!

Tires can be in balance while still out of round. I saw it with Goodyear Duratrac

Bent rim. Have them rotate backs to front. Should move the vibration to the seat if this is the case. Steering wheel vibration usually equals the front tires or wheels. Seat vibration usually means the rear.

Have you off roaded it yet?

Edit: Where's the OP? Did he get it fixed?

Your 3rd statement is my issue. I keep thinking it's something that needs an adjustment and the
next day it's prefect - same route, time of day, tire pressure -NO CHANGES and the steering wheel
will just shake or not shake, makes no sense but 2 other tacos' did it as well.

I just got back from the dealership. Turns out my truck is missing a weight on the rear driveshaft, near the rear axle. You can see where the spot weld was that held the weight on. The technician figures that the weight likely wasn't tacked properly and probably fell off before I took delivery. The dealership ordered a replacement driveshaft and I'll keep everyone posted after installation.

I know this is a long shot, but check your power steering pump and its fluid level. I had something similar of a different vehicle and that's what caused the steering wheel to vibrate. Does it vibrate when sitting idle with turning the steering wheel full left and then full right?

I have the issue of the vibration when slowing down... I'm getting new leaf springs and the TSB also calls for the replacement of the "steering damper"

See if your truck hops in the rear end a bit when slowing down... Happens around 40mph and under.. feels like a warped drum..

I DO NOT have that aggressive of wheel vibration though..

I have the same steering wheel vibration with my '17 2WD SR DCSB...Seem's more prevalent in the 65mph-75mph range. My first 6 month service is tomorrow morning, so I'll see what they say. It's a real annoyance on a longer drive.

It did it with the factory steel wheels/tires, and still does it after upgrading to factory Sport wheels/tires, so I have to discount a wheel and/or tire issue.

I feel for you , I wish I talked to you before your purchase, I had 2012 Tacoma sport with this issues countless re-balancing and tire replacement from dealer and Discount issue not solved
so I figured had a lemon. traded it in for a 2014 Tacoma sport test drove smooth has silk by 100 miles it started to the same thing long story short Toyota bought it back though lemon law.

After a year I purchased a 2004 Tacoma extra cab no problems and besides having a rough ride I totally love it , Toyota just isn't what they used to be. I wish you the best of luck, try
a good quality and road force balances l so make sure the shop mount the wheel using lug concentric adapter this will mount the wheel just like it is on vehicle.

Has anyone found the solution to this problem?
The steering wheel on my tacoma started shaking when I changed my wheels(scs ray 10s) usually between 50-62mph. the shaking does seems to decrease a little bit taking a curve
