got my 16 SR5 for 32 out the door but they were a little hotter in 16. but you can get a bedmat for around 100, and the bed is composite, so not sure why a liner for 220?

Wow, thank you all for the replies! I shopped around a little bit and took heed in the advise that the SR5 is quite steep vs. other trims. I managed to get another quote from another dealer and this is what I got - this is for a 2018 TRD Off Road V6 Double Cab 4x4!

I believe this is a better deal than the SR5?

100% better deal, I was able to score my TRD Off-Road DCLB for $33,200.00 (Sticker was over $39K) w/Prem Tech PKG and you are at $34,983.03 so much better than the SR5.
Tell them it's a deal (I assume you are happy with the Off-Road otherwise, features, bed length, and color) if they can come down to $34,200 (another $700 off).

During negotiations on vehicle price you should never discuss the payments with a dealer. A dealer can make the payments fit into any scenario. They love suckers who negotiate based on monthly payments. Example, payments could be 10 dollars a month on a 80 year loan.

    1. Negotiate the price of the vehicle. Not the payments.
    2. After settling on a cost for the vehicle, negotiate the value of your trade in.
    3. After both of the above are completed negotiate the APR of the loan.
Finally pick a loan with payments you can afford.

From strictly a personal finance perspective you cant afford this truck. Your credit is good to qualify for the 1.9%apr and I imagine you would like to keep it that way. Your looking at 7 and 8 year loans. 5xx a month every month for the next 8 years. On average people keep a vehicle for 5 years.

If you have to take a loan you should get a 3 year, 4 year MAX. If I were you I would be looking for used in the 15k range. My 2c.

I just bought a 2018 sr5 4x4 v6 for $335 OTD (approx $31K before TTL) You should look elsewhere if they wont budge.

At 37K purchase price, 1.9% APR over 5 years you will pay $1667 in interest. 2.9% over 6 years you will pay $2565 in interest.

I would find a cheaper truck and get the lower interest rate

Hi everyone, just wanted to say thank you for all your replies and thoughts on this thread. I'm happy to say I've locked it down (2018 SR5 DCSB 4x4) with a dealer.

I've opted for a 1.9% 60 month payment option as my finances on a lower priced SR5 will allow me to afford it without breaking my budget. A couple of you mentioned that I negotiate for the selling price, which I did, and the dealer gave a little bit more and I got another $500 discount, which was really neat since I'm not one to really haggle anything. This community rocks!

Not sure if this warrants the thread to be closed, but my next update will be to post pictures of the truck here, and looking forward to posting more in other threads!

Nice truck! How much did you get it for in the end? Must have been some good savings since the first SR5 quote was nearly identical to the off road.

An almost 34K base price seems like a lot for an SR5, especially one without a lot of extras. I'd look around a bit more before you pull the trigger on that one. With a bit of work, you could find yourself a Sport or Off-Road at that price or just a touch more, and have yourself a nicer truck with more options.
