    That's at least 35 miles away from me but I'll check out the thread.

    In the meanwhile, I'm thinking this Thursday for a North Phx meet. Somewhere actually north, like up in Norterra or the like. Mellow Mushroom at Norterra for old time's sake? We've had a few meets there before and the menu and parking was always suitable for the group.

    Fully understandable. I was thinking North like Mellow Mushroom at Desert Ridge North not wayyyyyyyyy north. One of our friends is in town this week prepping for the Senior PGA tour event in So Cal next week and we're supposed to grab dinner either Thurs or Wed.

    I live .5 mile from work, .5 mile from my PT and my gym, .75 from grocery store and 1 mile to the nearest hiking trailhead. Anything over 15 minutes away from me is far lol

    Holy cow....

    I live 32 miles from my work in downtown, .5 mile from the nearest hiking (our place is just up the road from the Sonoran desert preserve) and 7 miles from the nearest grocery store.

    But....I like the peace and quiet, nothing but black skies and coyotes yipping away at night, no traffic noise at all.

    Yeah my entire life from early 20's until a few years ago I had always had between a 20-30 mile each way commute 15-20k a year on the car. This is a very nice departure from that grind. Just turned 5k on the truck in 6 months and that includes 5 trips down to the Border-Patagonia on the AZT, a trip to Sedona, another weekend on FR300 on the Mogollon Rim. Would not even be driving it during the week at all if my ankle was not hurt and I could still walk to work.

    Sounds like we have some good interest from the group, including some new members to the North Phoenix meets. I'll be out there on Thursday in the parking lot probably around 6:30ish, parked on the east side of Mellow Mushroom where there's room to put a few of us. We'll stroll in at 7 and make them push a couple tables together for us.

    Sounds like me, minus the commute. I work from home. Groceries are 3 miles away, and my local hiking trails are walking distance from my front door. The dark skies and the coyotes at night are well worth it.
