    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly a 1998 SR5 PU, 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
Or like my Handheld HAM radio that I use a linear amp for in my truck... I can unplug it very quickly, but I usually keep a second 2-meter handheld in my go bag along with a PLB too.

A radio bag is fun and would have been helpful in this situation. In a 3 day assault pack I use for radio goods(among other things) is a portable HF radio setup,
    and 2 uhf/vhf handhelds.

I believe he emptied his fire extinguisher, but the fire kept going.

There are some vids of Tacoma's catching on fire as well. Any vehicle can catch on fire. Too bad it happened to this guy way out in the sticks.

You are right - he did the right thing by giving up directly fighting the fire and putting his priority and energy in cutting a fireline around his jeep and salvaging what he could to wait it out until his pickup arrived. Man, he was equipped! All the lighting being used in the dark for the video made it look staged.

He emptied his fire extinguisher, used 3 gallons of his drinking water fighting it, and then proceeded to dig a fire break around the truck after he secured his survival gear. Then stayed with the truck as it burned to ensure he didn't start a wildfire. He is also parked in front of gate, with no where else to go to avoid brush.

All these guys bad mouthing this guy either haven't watched the video or have personal issues. The guy was calm, prepared, and worked hard. His shit still burned down, but he didn't let his personal tragedy become a public problem. I have nothing but respect for this guy and his efforts in this bad situation.
