+1 on the poorly wired accessories, although it sounds like the wiring in these isn't exactly tip-top from the from the factory.

Had to wonder what kind of person takes the time to set up their camera on a tripod while their vehicle burns to the ground. :notsure: Jeepers.

What's really impressive is the amount of editing and staging that went in to this video.

This is why you don't buy jeeps and 2# fire extinguishers.

That didnt look suspicious at all...

    Take mandated coconut milk break
Find dead end 30 miles from road to set up camp
    Jeep ignites
    Set up AV equipment
    Set up stage lighting
    Start recording
    Remove rations from raging inferno
Document attempts made to control fire
    Enjoy the overnighter.

Seems weird. He drove in the afternoon to this location yet will take "days to walk back to civilization"?
Cant wait for the follow up video discussing in depth insurance coverage and what 2019 vehicle hes purchasing lol

I dunno. I have mixed feelings. If I was going to commit vehicle insurance fraud I think I'd avoid filming it.

Poor guy, but he does make some good suggestions for those of us that overland solo - definitely have to rethink my emergency go-bag that should now include clothing, meds, wallets maybe a gerber multi-tool and phones + a large backup charging lithium battery. I guess he had cell-phone data coverage to send out a Gaia track file, lucky... I have a ham radio and CB, (both are handhelds set up as mobile units so I could grab them if necessary). I also have a PLB (emergency only satellite beacon) and a SPOT (but I cancelled it’s annual subscription, as I got the PLB that doesnt need one, and plan to just activate the SPOT on a monthly as needed basis).
Water and food I normally put in back last so it’s accessible, and so I will also pack a small emergency tent and tarp that would be good as backup if we are out in cold wet weather and my RTT gets destroyed. Any other suggestions?

Oh, and as far as truck equipment, I’m pretty well suplied for that with an extra battery, reciever mounted winch, pull-pal anchor, shovels and jack, tools, extra fluids, compressors and patch kits, etc...

    Holy crap!
Saw a post about this on expedition portal ig today, and just watched the video. I go it alone often, and frequently farther out. I have 2 fire extinguishers but now I wonder if that’s enough. It won’t make me stop soloing but I might rethink my packing. :anonymous:
