Every 2nd and 3rd gen owner will have to go through the wheel bearing ritual at some point, right? Front passenger bearing made it about 75,000 miles until a wheeling trip did it in. Biggest annoyance was the metal dust cap that must be removed and installed with a chisel.

that was the plan, i didnt want to take up any usable bed space the 40mm ammo cans work perfect for above the wheel well

Did you buy new dust caps before tackling the bearings?

^Yep, expensive part at the dealer parts counter (~$30).

What I tried to do: change front differential fluid. Gen 2 with OEM post-skid plate plate (I am sure there's an official name). So take off the skid plate to get access to the second plate. Take it off. Take the mud flap off. Way more than 10 minutes have gone by. So much for making my supper date. Finally have access to the front differential. Work, work, work. Cannot get the breaker bar on it. Can't keep a wrench on it. Rusted tight. Give up. I'll let PB blaster work overnight because I couldn't get the nuts loose tonight.

No pictures from yesterday, but oil/filter change, front brakes and rotors replaced with EBC Green Stuff pads and slotted rotors, both front hubs changed out.

Today I'm spraying a dozen or so trucks with FluidFilm. Time to go get everything set up, party starts in an hour.

Satoshi style grille project started. I just need mesh and 2 part epoxy. I decided to remove the front cover "valance" and rubberize it.

Tried out an engine bay cleaning method I read on another forum...
Warm up engine. Park where you'll do the work.
Spray down engine bay with regular hose water - NOT pressurized.
Spray everything with a 10% Simple Green Solution.
    Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
    Hose it down again.
Wipe down with old microfiber towels.
I used Adams VRT on the plastic pieces.
Close hood, drive around a bit to dry things completely.

I think it came out pretty good..

Looks good as new. I was wondering I should do a light mix like this or buy a full on degreaser for the bay.
