    Hello everyone

I'm starting my hunt for a Tacoma, last month I was looking into replacing my aging Honda Element SC with a Chevy Volt buuuuuuuuuut I really need another pickup truck. I previously owned a 2004 Dodge Dakota Sport extended cab and I havent had a truck as useful since that one. The element is great, but I need a pickup.

I joined here so I can learn more about the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas but I'd like to get a 2016 SR5 or possibly a TRD 4x4 Offroad. Crew cab is a must and I'd like a long bed. Either white or quicksand are my two color choices because it seems that Cement and Cavalry blue didnt make it onto many trucks.

anyways, I also dabble in prob building (501st legion member with a Sandtrooper and a First Order Stormtrooper hence either a white or quicksand truck), R2D2 building, 3D printing, woodworking, and makerspace kind of stuff. A pickup truck like a Taco would be exactly what I need again, just need to find the right one.

Forgot to mention I also play with cars, a lot, so wrenching isnt anything new to me. I'm hopefully going to get into some form of canned ham sized camper at some point so I totally need something that can tow it. 4x4 would be awesome and if I am going to spend some coin on a Tacoma, why not do it right the first time. Except maybe a TRD Pro, not going that deep

Welcome! Quicksand and Super white were the colors I was torn by, I ultimately went with white an don't regret it. I find it pretty easy to keep clean too.

I’m learning that Tacoma’s seem to hold their resale value better than a Wrangler. Might have to consider new over used.

I’m in key west for work and stopped by the Toyota dealership to look at tacos and they have 12 on the lot and have everything from SR 4 cylinders to a limited. Noticed they had one of the new XSP or whatever it is. I kinda like it. Wish it had stock wheels and tires and no added on pro running board steps and the “Toyo care”.

$700 for two oil changes and tire rotations. Total rip off and $300 for some paint conditioning.

How can I buy a Tacoma without that crap?

There was a sand colored SR5 I liked but had $2k worth of junk added I do not want. TRD pro side steps and the $1k toyo car and paint conditioning. AND $995 dealership fees.
