Just outside of Hurricane Utah heading to my buddy’s house in Montana. Whack! Big rock hits right in front of my face and spiders the windshield. Argggg. Called around and it looks like $750 bucks for a new one because they said they have to recalibrate the sensors for the Lane sensing cameras. Dang.....

They do not have to unplug the sensors. I had my windshield replaced and the installer pulled the unit from the bracket and just let it dangle until the new windshield was set in place. He mentioned that it was very common for installers to unplug but it is not necessary and you avoid having to pay to recalibrate.

$750??? I seriously hope that's not what a windshield costs on these trucks

The OEM windshield is about $550 and then add install costs.

Mine is $100....If you're driving a 30k+ vehicle thats financed , you should have comprehensive coverage. I would have said you are stupid/ a dumbass, but some people have no clue about insurance coverage.

Yah it’s worth it’s weight. As long as you don’t say it was a car door (wherever the damage may be) that falls under collision

Your actually required to have comp coverage if your vehicle is financed... mine is not, but I still carry comp on all my vehicles if something significant were to happen. Minor stuff like the windshield is what it is and I prefer to pay as I go. It has financially worked out well over the years, but everyone has different experiences.

I have geico insurance with full coverage. Same thing has happened to both my Tacoma and my charger. I just get on the app, select glass damage, schedule a time and place. They came, fixed them, and said have a great day! No money, deductible, nothing.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
You could call Safelite and see if they could get your vehicle in for one of their installer training programs and get it done for free
