So as a new member, I have now enjoyed my '16 Sport double cab with MT and 40k miles more than ever. The love affair is getting stronger. She has performed flawlessly doing double duty as work commuter and motorcycle track hauler. She now has ditch lights, Thule rack, torneau cover. After 40k miles the OEM tires were shot so just bought new stock tires in 265/65/17.

However, my neighbor presented me with a great opportunity.

He just traded his old Silverado for a new GM and offered me his second set of original wheels. They look like cop car wheels in black. Lug pattern seems to match. Only issue is the tire size is 255/70/16 not the stock 265/65/17. Any issues with doing this configuration?

TIA for any comments or feedback.

The only difference will be the hub bore. Chevy is smaller and I believe the hub bore toyota needs is like 95mm or something? Someone here definitely knows

You cannot put tires 17” tires on 16” wheels.

Also I’m willing to bet you those Chevy wheels are lug centric to your Tacoma which means you will need adapters and a tire shop in your area that can road force balance your wheels.

He didn’t ask that, he asked if the tire size on the new wheels he got would fit.

Most Toyota wheels are lug centric. Chevy wheels are hub centric.

You sure about that? Tacoma’s are hub centric and my old Lexus IS250 was also hub centric.

The tire calculator will let you compare dia of your existing and proposed packages.

But I'd try installing one first. I don't think the wheel will fit your truck.

@tacobell1 can you clearify what you mean. Are you trying to add both his wheels and tires or just his wheels and put your tires on them? The latter is what it sounded like you were asking.

I was told at discount tire they’re lug centric, but that could’ve just been my new wheels. Oh well lol
