The TSS is really just a distributor package offered by GST. It's a wheels, tires, floor mats, and sticker package that they add to SR5 trucks. They might change what they add it to and an individual dealer might be able to just add it themselves.

If that is what he got -- then it takes "replacing the shocks" out of the picture.

Ummm, not sure what the dealer told you, but I'm pretty sure that is Toyota Safety Sense

OP, but even after i put the TRD Offroad shocks on mine my girlfriend still says its too rough; but then again she drives a Lexus. I think it rides fine for what it is.

Reminds me of the test drive I took with my wife. Her comment was "I understand it's a truck and it certainly drives like one. I don't like it. But it's yours, so have it." She now finds it comfortable when she's in it, but we haven't done any longer trips yet.

I'd suggest keeping it a bit longer and seeing if your feelings change. You've already driven it off the lot and put miles on it, I don't know if another couple of weeks would make a difference at this point as far as depreciation goes.

"She" will never be happy with the Taco ride if she is comparing it to a Lexus!
My wife's 15 Subaru OB rides way nicer than my 17 Tacoma as well

Not bagging on you, I see you're trying to help. But, maybe local dealers should put more than .02 seconds of thought into naming their overpriced add on crap. They used the EXACT same name as an existing feature of the truck and other Toyota vehicles.

Yo dog, we heard you liked TSS, so we put TSS on your truck with TSS so now you can TSS while you TSS.

Give it a little more time. At this point you might as well drive it for another 1k miles at least.

The Toyota Sport Series came out long before the Toyota Safety Sense. So im not sure who dropped the ball on that but youre right, it wasnt the best idea.

OP post pics of the truck, all around and shocks.
I have a PRO and didn't like the soft ride. Have replaced all shocks with Icon 700# front and Icon RXT back full pack. I do not have any weight added to the truck and now it rides like a cart. STIFF. Love it.

I think it is because regional packages only exist in the gulf and southern region and most people don't know they exist. It is because they are the only two remaining private distributors and they create their own OE packages.

It isn’t a dealer product. It’s Toyota Corp distribution region product.
