Hi all, been wanting a Tacoma for awhile and figured what better to spend my money from my first career out of college than on one. I found this one and was wondering what people thought of the price (I apologize if I posted to the wrong area in advance).
So basically I just really want a sun roof (weird I know) but I know that limited options when it comes to Tacos but is this 2017 worth buying as they gave me a price of $33,900 out the door.

    OR

Is it better just biting a new one at this point?

All thoughts are greatly appreciate as I am more than ready to get out of my trailblazer and into a Taco asap.

    Thanks!

I'm not as versed as the senior members here but from my own research, it makes better sense to purchase NEW Taco rather than buying a 1-2 yr old models since the price difference is only $5k and under and you get better APR/incentives, etc on brand new deals, not to mention, no mileage and full 3 yr warranty from day of purchase.

In my area, even CarMax is selling 2016-18 Tacos SR5 for almost $35k where as I can get a brand new haggled below the used price . LOL.

    Some things to think about.
Do you like the mods that have been made to it?
Why would someone have a truck with only 17k miles and trade it in?
Why would someone put that money in mods and then trade it in?
Is the service history available, specifically did the oil change get completed at the 10k mark?

You could still negotiate off cost. I would not worry about the "why would someone trade it in" part....it is still under factory warranty so if anything was/is wrong it is still covered. You can buy a Sport for that new , however, not with the mods which is worth something including the roof and those are 4Runner TRD Wheels....

Personally, I wouldn’t spend that much on a truck right out of college. Maybe you got a great job though. If so, good for you and go for it. Don’t be “truck poor” though.

All the above advice is good, you are thirty to forty five days out from new 2019 models. I would wait for a new one, besides living in North Texas no one I know wants a black vehicle. They look grate when they are clean, but at 5 PM when you walk out to it, and its been baking in the sun all day, open the door and slide in, you will wish it were White. or almost any color but black.

Do some serious test driving and compare the sport, off road and sr5 suspensions. They offer markedly different rides.

Doesn't seem like much of a cost difference from new. I purchased mine new for $34,110 out the door.

I purchased my TRD with tech and premium (sunroof, leather) packages for $34,500 out the door, sticker was something like $39,100. You just gotta find the right dealer that is willing to negotiate. I understand I'm probably in the minority, wanted the TSS stuff (new for 2018) because I have young children and it was a selling point for my wife.
