DUUUUUUUUUDE.....where ya find the TRDs? I want some! Would you recommend going for tires/rims all at once or does it matter if I just go for TRD rims and wait on tires?

I'm waiting to do my tires until the stock tire tread is all gone. I'd go ahead and do the rims now to break up the cost. Just my two cents.

I couldn't afford the combo so went with the wheels only.

It was kind of a weird day when I got them. I had my truck in for regular service and a recall. I went to the parts guy just to see how much the wheels are and if they would fit right on my truck. Being a salesperson, he said the tires would fit fine and that my valve stems are the correct angle for the TRD wheels (he was right but i was still a little nervous that my stock tires would look funny on the new wheels...). I really had no intention of buying wheels when I dropped off the truck but half an hour later I had them bought and then installed by the end of the day. My dealership charged me a ton of money to mount, balance and align the setup but I really wanted these and so was worth it. The stock tires look a little goofy on the new wheels but I still think it looks a ton better than the stock wheels.

If you have the dealership do the mounting for you, be sure to check afterward to make sure they didn't leave heavy white grease all over the wheels and tires. I had to have the dealership take my truck to their detailer to clean everything up after the mounted the tires to the wheels.

I have my old stock Sport wheels and plan to try to sell them locally (southern California)

I was apprehensive about that die cut tape. It just didn't look up to speed and I have plenty of "exterior" emblem tape. Not sure about using JB Weld, I've never used the stuff. I might buy a tube of model glue, put a drop on my finger and touch the grille in an obscure spot to see if it melts the plastic.
Using the 3M went right over my head :anonymous: Great suggestion, never even thought about it!
    Thank you!!

I don't think so but honestly I don't know. A small test might be a good idea for future reference.

I got mine off of eBay some time ago and had a set on my 2ND gen as well. They're magnetic black carbon fiber.. Installed them on a hot summer day and they formed to the door pocket perfectly. They look like they came factory installed and haven’t budged since. Think I paid around $30 dollars for a set of 4. If fingernail scratches on your door pockets drive you crazy these are the solution to that problem. Sorry but I don't remember the seller.

Update: Did some searching and I'm positive that the brand name is CUPEEZ.
    Seller: cupeezforcars
If the leopard print protectors come up after search click on sellers items for sale. Should bring up a whole list of protectors available. Enter your vehicle info and you should be all set. Shows as still available. After using the CUPEEZ brand protectors on 2 different Tacos I highly recommend them and I'd never use anything else, they're that good! Hope this helps!

To be fair, we have a Tahoe as our special operations truck that could benefit from a lift and armor (it's our rope rescue/tac truck)....and some of our service area is pretty rough on the ol ambulances...don't give me any ideas, haha.
